Ever worried your child will be a socially inept NERD?

Hoping they choose a education and career while being social! Like a doctor or nurse. Not computer engineer with her being the only woman in the class.

It's great them having a high paying job but we want grand kids soon and her to actually have a good husband not just another single bitter divorced mom!

Yes she is so still growing but a mom worries!

I was worried only if they chose an occupation that would let them lead a comfortable life.

Both my grown-up kids ended up being taught by me, and both work as software engineers. I wouldn't say they are nerds or socially distanced. But even if they were... Whatever they do or want to do with their lives, they know they can come and ask for advice or help. And they are free to choose their own paths.

For people with problems with social interactions, there are therapies and other help.

Congrats they turned out well but yeah my cousins are not the best and don't want help just so mean and bitter girls.

nope... we've already had little ones in the family (relatives) and even neighbors who were socially awkward, and we all got them through...

even during my own childhood, when I had friends or classmates that were struggling socially, sometimes I tried my best to help them and it got much better

in fact, I was VERY socially challenged as a young kid myself and I still got out of that, by trying a few things, so... I think it is fair to say that I would probably find a way to also help my own children if something like this ever happened

HOWEVER, if they wanted to be less social or to chose a career that is not so socially involved, I would not be against that either... whatever makes them happier I would support that choice, and it doesn't have to mean they're just "inept"

My daughter was into computers in school, she went on to major in Compurer Science and ended up with a degree in Mathmatics. She played sports in high school and had lots of friends. She has a good job and is living on her own.

She was not as social as her brothers were but I was not social either. She had her own set of friends someplace else like I did.

Yes my sister has grandkids and I want some soon! No teen drama and I get the cuteness with our having all the screaming and mess!
