But basically, you can’t always get caught up with the way things should be, you have to operate within what’s being dictated to you. My girlfriend is very obsessed with like emotional and spiritual healing right now, which is great for her in the position she’s in, but she applies it to everyone. We’ll be talking about something like politics, and lamenting stupidity we perceive amongst certain folks, for example. We agree in principle, but she’ll immediately go off on this “these people are in a lot of pain, and if they just healed themselves and…” yadda yadda…. and look…. I hear ya. I don’t disagree with what you’re saying, on a psychoanalytical level you’re probably absolutely right.

But the sad reality is that most of these people who frustrate us are just not going to wake up tomorrow and have some unforced epiphany and undergo extreme personal growth emotionally and spiritually, and instead almost every last one of them is going to go to their graves staunchly defending these words and beliefs that have us shaking our heads and questioning humanity. So we can’t always just operate hoping for wholesale pie-in-the-sky changes in humankind. It’s depressing and pessimistic, but you just have to let it go or you’ll drive yourself crazy.

So when I hear people sometimes saying “yeah, but why don’t people change the way they—….”, and I’m just like “Let me stop you right there.” Lmao

Being Selfish is good thing.

Lesson taught during childhood times are not always practical or right lessons for adulthood.

Situation, rules, and reality is very much different than a simple world for children so it can't be forever right.
