My dad tried to make a tradition of having us volunteer at a soup kitchen during the holiday season as a family. We all hated it because none of us wanted to work on a Saturday, the place was already crowded with similar volunteers as the holidays are the time where most people even bother to sign up, we all had back pain even those of us who were just kids and after hearing the repeated complaints and talk of discomfort from being stationed with a lot of volunteers we didn’t personally know and how we were all separated, he dropped it and we never really went back as a family again. No idea if he ever went back himself

Yes, went great. I loved it. And I’ll likely return to it in the future. Volunteer work is lots of fun and makes you feel good.

I did stock management in a charity shop for 5 weeks and hated it

I volunteer for a community cafe and have done for about 5 years not that we were open in the pandemic so it's about 3 if you remove that time

I'm considering doing jewellery for a different charity shop but it is only a consideration
