Would you stay with a company who's policies didn't align with your values, even if the pay was good or you had no other work?

You're there to work, to do a job. What the CEO may happen to believe about whatever is the current issue, is completely irrelevant. Don't bring politics to work, unless you actually happen to be a politician.

That's not what I'm talking about. The CEO can believe whatever he or she wants, the issue is when politics start to dictate work policy. But I guess when you work for the State, there's no way around that.

It depends on the policies. If it is woke rubbish, I would not work for them for any money. Same for all this "inclusivity" and positive descrimination crap as well.

What about policies that grant certain privileges to some groups, but not others?

Discrimination. That is unfair and I could be one of the underdog group. I'd look for another job.

Do you think giving free stuff or discount pricing to veterans falls under that category?
Or what about giving free entry to soldiers on Veterans Day, but doing nothing for women on International Women's Day?

You have to judge each on its own merits. Personally, I think it better to give all groups like that the same average diiscount

That's basically how I feel, and this never sat well with me at that job. And even all veterans/soldiers didn't get the same privileges. But the biggest issue is, when you give someone a finger, after time they end up wanting the whole hand. And it doesn't sit well with me that one group should always get praise and rewards when there are others who are equally or even more deserving.

I think the one that irks me that MOST though, is giving special or even just equal treatment to someone who doesn't extend us the same courtesy. For example, American tourists getting charged more at attractions in foreign countries, but then tourists from those same countries coming here and getting charged the same.

I'd like to say no, but I've never been in that situation, and if I was I wouldn't be in a position where I'd risk homeless if I did.

No… I quit a job 3 years ago because yeah it felt like a safe but it was so toxic and I was being really mistreated. Took me a while to land a new career but I’m soooo glad I did.

I thought about that, but it's not as straightforward as simply replying. They want an essay and three letters of recommendation. I don't understand why Americans always have to make things so complicated

Yeah. Usually you should be able to get a good job with a bachelor's. Masters and PhDs are more for people who want to do research
