My co worker started to speed up on the way to work so he could avoid having a conversation I felt hurt by this what should I do as im new there?

Just some advice, not wanting to communicate might not have anything to do with you, there are some people who suffer from social anxiety or lack of confidence and do avoid conversations with people because the anxiety is overpowering. Maybe next time just say hi how are you and see how they react or respond to you.
