10-Year-Old Boy Takes Own Life After Relentless Bullying

A tragic incident unfolded in Greenfield, Indiana, as a ten-year-old boy, Sammy Teusch, tragically took his own life after enduring relentless bullying at school. According to his grieving family, Sammy had notified school officials about the ongoing abuse on a staggering 20 occasions. The relentless torment continued right up until the night he passed away, leaving his loved ones devastated.

The bullying began when Sammy was in elementary school and tragically followed him to Greenfield Intermediate School. Sammy made a point to inform teachers and staff numerous times about the relentless bullying he was facing. They describe Sammy being both physically and emotionally bullied, with the most recent incident involving a physical assault that took place on a school bus.

Sammy’s father, Sam, shares the heartbreaking pain of witnessing his son’s suffering, saying, “They were making fun of him for his glasses in the beginning, then on to make fun of his teeth. It went on for a long time.” The abuse escalated to physical violence, with Sammy being beaten up on the school bus, resulting in his glasses being broken.

Frustrated by the lack of effective intervention, Sammy’s father reached out to the school, asking for action. However, he expressed disappointment, stating, “What are you doing about this? It keeps getting worse, and worse, and worse. And it’s not getting any better. In fact, it’s getting worse.” Sammy’s grandmother, Cynthia, speaks to the breakdown of trust in schools, emphasizing that relying on schools to address bullying is becoming increasingly challenging.

When approached for an interview, Dr. Harold Olin, the superintendent of Greenfield-Central Community School Corporation, claimed not to be available and denied that any bullying report had been submitted by the family.

I was bullied through school. Thankfully I had a friend who skipped class when he saw me heading off site with the intent of ending my life. It only finally stopped after I snapped and beat one of the bullies so badly a member of staff needed help to drag me off him.

Bullying continued at the school until the year after I left when another boy hanged himself from a tree by the school sports field.

I'm told the atmosphere there is very different now.

The family needs to file a wrongful death suit against the school for the death of their child, and against the bullies' families. It won't bring their child back, but it's the only way the families will learn their kid is an evil little shit.

At my age I'm not as fast as most of my son's friends' parents, but if I find out he's being bullied and the fathers are doing nothing it'll be the fathers I visit.

I went through almost the exact same thing from 4th grade to 12th grade I did everything one is told to do. Talk to parents, teachers, principal, police. It culminated when I was almost 17 when one of them decided to jump me on my way to my next class. I broke his jaw, orbital bone, right arm, left leg, 6 or 7 ribs, cracked another 10 and snapped 4 fingers all the way backwards. He spent 2 months in the hospital and switched schools. The school tried punishing me until my parents showed them the hundreds of incidents they didn't do shit. Not one for violence under normal circumstances but once you have done the right thing 4 times put one in the grave or the hospital that will solve the problem.

He got me 3 times before instincts took in. Have taken special care to not lose control so I don't have a repeat incident. Hence why my approach is do the right thing 4 times then do what you have to do. If the school won't stop it then others will make it so dangerous to not stop it the school has no choice.

My son was ostracized led by his ex girlfriend and she poisoned the entire friend group against him. We documented everything and went up the chain to superintendent very quickly. All kinds of plans, platitudes, promises and such but it just put the whole thing on ice. It's hard to fix "negative bullying" ostracization than positive bullying.

Wearing my teacher hat I can say IT'S VERY HARD to be everywhere at all times and tbh, most of its online today and the answer to that from EVERY school atty is "it depends, it's a gray area". MANY teachers document events hoping to cya AND get admin, guidance, social workers, psychologist involved but it often doesn't help. Sorry to be so negative but this is the truth. 😭🤬

When I was 11 years old at day camp If somebody had a problem with another guy they would make a big circle with a group of people and the two guys that had a problem with each other would have a bare knuckle fist fight, and I was so surprised and I was involved in this, and that was the only time that I was allowed to have a bare knuckle fight without getting in trouble and it wasn’t even a boxing match with gloves on. The camp counselor that was involved was a young guy in his early 20s and he allowed this it was incredible. Today This would never happen. Unless it’s one of those fight club scenarios, but that’s just a movie. And this was at a park in Broad daylight and I won that day to. I even asked the kid if you want to do it again he said no. He was a tough guy himself, but I can see him bullying other people

(One of the only) problems when a school gets righteously sued for ignoring the problem, is that the taxpayers get stuck holding the bag for the restitution.

It should be easy to verify a paper trail left by the parents, up to and including the assault and battery on the bus. Of course the head dude isn't going to say anything, so, "we make it a point to never comment on pending or potential litigation" has become a phrase parroted on a daily basis SOMEwhere.

No, they should investigate the parents of the bullies.. and go after them. Bad parents and people make for bullies. If my child bullies and I hear about it. My child will be disciplined for it. And I will nip it. The child bullies parents so bare the the brunt of the responsibility for there child. And the bully needs to be held severely responsible for his actions.

People like bullies and bullying. You’ll notice that the only time skools actually stand up and take issue is when a bullied kid gets his or her revenge. Never when the bully has the upper hand.

No matter what anyone would do. There will be someone out there that will say that they should have done something differently. It is a shame. But you just can’t win in today’s society!

All of the staff members who neglected to address this situation should be fired and also criminally charged.
