Depends on what the product or service I'd be selling is and what percentage of commission they're paying me for is.

Sales can be some of the most lucrative jobs... more so than doctors, lawyers, engineers, etc. if you're a good salesperson.

I would definitely take a commission and flat rate salary job. I wouldn't work for only commission and lower hourly. Commission is an incentive, and gaining commission is like getting a bonus at each pay period.

I would only if my annual projection, or quarterly, was just a feasible if I were to choose that option. Compared to if a salary was involved. Real estate agents making a sale can bring a hefty commission.

Without a marketing person, how could the customer get to know about the product? Sometimes the owners doesn't have skills to find customers hence, they'll keep marketing persons on a commission basis.
