Why is the job market so Hard these days? Can anyone please help me or refer me?

I was laid off from my job as a Branch Manager for an Armored/ ATM company , I currently reside in Pennsylvania, I have been actively seeking work for 7 months now , and all I receive is denials mainly , I had a few 2nd interviews and then I hear nothing , even after I reach out to them. What is wrong with the job market today? I am struggling with bills and everything else my credit is getting killed because I can barely pay my bills , I have applied to over 400 jobs that I am qualified for and it seems to be a waste of time. I have a lot of experience in security and customer service and leadership and it’s been a complete nightmare to land a job, I am willing to relocate at this point because I am not landing anything here in my area. Can someone please help me or refer me , I am seeking a management position or leadership position to pays decent. Thank you

I have a few resources and tips from when I worked as a job coach.


For starters, use onetonline. org for job searches. The website is connected to 4 different job boards, including Indeed. You search for the job title you want and it gives you a page full of what the expectations would be for you in this role and the expectations you can have for pay and benefits (if you scroll down the link for the job boards with that specific title will be near the bottom of the page). This helps get some variety and new businesses that might not be able to afford Indeed’s posting fees.
When applying, your application will be run through an AI scanner looking for specific words, make sure your cover letter contains words you find in the job description from the site posting to help it green light you for viewing for the hiring manager. Try not to include too many decorative borders on your resume as this can throw the scanner off and deem your resume ineligible. It’s also a good idea to rearrange your resume based on the work you’re looking for. You can have a master resume with all of your job experience listed on it, but in your application only include relevant experience and skills in order to keep it to a single page. And even after all of this, the average amount of time a hiring manager will view your resume is about 5 seconds before they move on. Online applications create the convenience of applying but they also receive dozens of applications a day.
To stand out a little, a week after you’ve applied, try to get in touch with the hiring manager over the phone. When you speak to them, tell them you’re calling to confirm they have a copy of your resume along with your application, this prompts them to open the file and take a longer look. Following that, say something like “and while I’ve got you on the phone, can I know when interviews will be scheduled?” This will at least give you a time frame for when you can expect to be called in for an interview. This will obviously vary depending on the company but it will give you a timeline to work with as you continue to send in applications.

I know its ridiculous. When one of the companies i worked with randomly closed and laid eveyone off in 2022, another job picked me up in 2 months. They were the highest paying i ever got with. They promised everyone would stay for at least a year since they knew all the new hires had just been laid off from other places. But Nope. They used us for all the work that came in that season and then dropped us 3 months later. They gave raises to all the people who worked there before the 40 of us were hired, but the idiots sent out an email to all of us saying a raise was in store. Then they called us one by one saying they were dropping people due to budget cuts. The idiots didn't know they sent the promotional/raise email to everyone and they stuttered when asked about it. Anyways, I applied to so many jobs and didn't get hired til 7 months later. I’ve now been at this job since September of last year. The job itself is not hard but its a lot for a lot lower pay and based off some of the things they have said/done, i don’t trust them as a company and feel they are crooked. They do at least give raises every 3-4 months but I want to quit so badly. Its just so hard to get another job. So i’m just basking in it rn 😭 I’m so sorry bud. I hope you find something soon. One good thing I can recall that came with Trump as prez was better job pay and more job opportunities. I surely won’t be voting for him nor the other main party as I will stick to the third party who actually shares my beliefs/morals, but if he becomes pres again, at least you’ll likely have a job again

Yea , something is definitely going on , all the years I have worked I have never experienced anything like this , I usually never had any problem landing a job , but all of a sudden I feel like I am this loser all of a sudden , and being treated like one , I had my resume reviewed and there is nothing wrong with it , so something is off in this job market , so any referrals at this point is greatly appreciated

For starters they post they are hiring but never do. The shit is misleading. And i applied to this nice motorcycle place here. They wanted me to go through 3 interviews. I aced the first 2 witth the managers and the guys were like “you got it! We know you’ll make the sales”. And i was told the last interview is with the owner of the place. He refused to even see me. I thought he didn't want a girl working there or something. But no he turned away every man and woman who applied. It turns out he only hired family. So he hired his niece who wasn't even qualified but hey she was fam! I wish i had a referral for you but i can't even find shit else myself to quit where i am

Until you stop taking everything on your own shoulders, and start inviting our Heavenly Father into the situation, this is the likely outcome. When my friend became born again, they asked God for help with finding work. Now they have so much work, they are overwhelmed!

Even their pricing was through God. Even previous enemies have helped them with work. The Kingdom of darkness is in operation 24/7 but if we don't know how to defend against it, then we are at the mercy of it. It is possible to be blocked from finding work legally in the spiritual realm, but how can we defend against it if we don't know?

You mentioned relocation... my friend prayed for a job and added the location to the end of the prayer. They called up and found a job in that same area that was not even advertised outside yet when they called!

No relocation for them!

That is my advice and it comes from someone who spent most of their life as a non believer. But not everyone is ready for all of this. However, I can do intercessory prayer for you to help you find a job locally etc. God may help with this just to make a point so let me know if you'd like me to pray on your behalf. God bless you!

yeah... if you want to go straight to leading and management with no referral or recommendations... that's just not going to work well at all

I'd say try my state but everyone I talked to about needing management hires said they have the ads posted just so they have an influx of candidates in case someone quits. Told them they were fucked to do that. I don't have any openings personally and even though I have no ads out still have people asking for jobs.

While looking for a better job, just take whatever job you can find even if it is only $10 per hour because, if you think the economy is bad now; just wait. It is going to get worse.

Yes, I usually get along great with people , I am very outgoing and not a judgmental person , I tend to look at things from both sides of the spectrum before opening my mouth , I been awarded for my accomplishments and the way I work with people , so why I am not landing jobs is beyond me
