No issues. I was a bartender at a Ritz Carlton before the pandemic hit, and they laid off heaps of people including me. I hit the internet and got four jobs right away in the following 5 months.
1. Working as crew on a sailing yacht that does whale/dolphin watching and sunset cruises. Minimum wage + tips (sometimes really decent tips like $50-$100)
2. Working as a secretary in an H&R Block. Temporary gig during tax season. Just above minimum wage.
3. Delivery driver for USPS. Decent wages, good benefits and overtime pay. Paid training including hotels and mileage.
4. Direct healthcare worker (not CNA/PCT, but similar work) for people with behavioral and developmental issues (autism, dementia, cognitive dysfunction, etc). Best pay of the four jobs, also good benefits, so this is the one I stuck with and started working more overtime.
I was laid off in February, and by July, I had settled on the fourth job as a keeper and my only job.
I am completely confident that if I were to quit my current job, there are at LEAST 4 different places I could pick up work doing what I do now, or also as an EMT or PCT. I get recruitment emails constantly for EMT and RBT work.

You have know people in order to get a job. You have to network and talk to people to find opportunities. That's the only I've been able to find jobs is from friends. When I apply online I hear nothing back. I do not even have an indeed account that's how useless applying online is these days. I am about to get another job soon because of my friend.
It must feel nice to actually know people who can help score you a job I unfortunately don't have anyone would care help me land a job unfortunately.
I understand. it sucks. I am introverted and am scared of talking to people, but that's the only way to land a job nowadays. The companies aren't going to read through 100s of resumes just to pick someone. Go to seminars make friends with business owners. You can also go to a job training program and befriend the job instructors.
They keep beatin around the bush for 2 weeks now about when and where to go to take this piss test. Im bout to tell them to fck off
It kinda funny how these companies simply doesn't call you back on nothing after the interview, it seems like they have forgotten about you. 😒
These haven't but their lack of professionalism is showing
It is really unprofessional but I guess we just have to keep trying apparently
Yes. You can try remote work.. if your skills enable it...
I have a myTake on remote work if you want tips on that.
You don't even need skills... lol

In California, yes actually. Any job I would actually want that is. I'm going to be getting all the licensing and paperwork and become an FFL to sell guns and basically be around them all day. It's good to do something you love and basically aside from video games and dogs guns are my passion. I'm not interested in becoming a range officer though. Too many idiots pointing loaded guns where they shouldn't half the time. Maybe I could work at the desk of one though. Hopefully at some point we can migrate to Nevada or Arizona from California so I can enjoy the full freedoms of the 2nd Amendment which Gavin Newsom, Dianne Feinstein, Nancy Pelosi, and Maxine Waters don't have a clue about. F*cking idiots making ridiculous laws out of spite and without knowing what these firearms do, how they handle, or the safety risks their laws bring to gun owners. I hear S&W is leaving Massachusetts like Beretta left Maryland for Tennesse. Good news for gun owners. We'll finally be rid of the damn hillary hole in the most gorgeous double action revolvers to ever exist! I should have taken gun smithing in my youth. A huge regret but maybe, just maybe I'll go back for it to work for one of the brands.
I just had about a week and a half of interviews, I figure if I don't hear back from any of them I'm going to go do some other work in another state. Whether the economy is bad or not, a lot of people haven't gone back to work. Even if they do, they'll still gamble, drink alcohol, do drugs, and skip on debts.
I'd have to renew my PI license, but skip tracing pays well, tending bar, dealing cards, dice, work with what you have. If you're crashing, barbacking pays better then doing jack shit and is a fast lane to bartending. Most of them are pretty exciting, being a PI is a lot of boring time in a van waiting for people while making calls and looking things up on your phone on other people.
The economy wants to pay peanuts for jobs and people need more money that is why people don't want to work I was at our local Foodland grocery store this morning early and people were so miserable and there was no one working on the cashiers just all self check out that was it. One girl working in the deli and one working in front were the Lottery and cigarettes are but that was it.
yes, I have been looking for a year. I have been on some interviews but no luck so far. I work in IT. If I was a burger flipper I would have no problem apparently.
Yes tell me about it brotha, in the past finding a job wouldn't be a huge hassle these days apparently you need to accept any position in order to score a job even something really pathetic like a dishwasher or dog walker would still be great
it all depends upon your skills. Have you tried LinkedIn? It is quite easy can I create a little resume online. And if you're willing to relocate.
Also try USAjobs. gov

Luckily my job doesn't really work like that, as there aren't thousands of us that do what I do all applying for the same position. Also you often get head-hunted for a specific project. That's how I came to my current company.
No… I know some people working 60 hours at 15.00 hour and 60 hours at 125 hour. Government feeding Socialism is killing this country.
it's super duper easy to find "a" job. probably easier than ever before with all this demographic change going on. however it's darn hard to find a well paid one :D
No Getting jobs is easy your just not that Interesting. You probably walk in there all worried Looking all desperate trying to act and sound Proper Not Trying to offend The one asking you the questions which is having the Opposite effect.
Its especially tough where I'm from, which doesn't have a strong need for what I do for a living. Should have moved after graduating.
Actually no in So Cal their are tons of jobs hiring all over lol
Nah, there are lucrative skills being sought everywhere. Just gotta be able to learn.
Not really; it was actually a lot easier than it has been.
I find it to be pretty easy.
Not really. People need what I do.
