If you caught someone in a lie not related to business but, you were doing business with them, would you keep doing business with them?

Say someone did something then lied about doing it and were totally gaslighting you. Would you keep doing business with them?

No. The second I find out that they lied about something that is business related is the second I would terminate my business relationship.

You need to have confidence and trust in your business partners and if that one is missing, then you will never know for sure if what they say is the truth or not.

I would rather abstain from doing business with that partner, even if it means that I may lose money rather than to pursue and being uncertain of the outcome.

I perceive it as a way of cheating, just like in a relationship. Once you lost the trust, you cannot gain it back.

No I would terminate it on the spot. Once you catch someone in a lie, you'll always have it in the back of your mind. You'll always be questioning if that person is telling the truth or not.

It depends on what kind of business you're doing and who's the person is you can always pull the person aside and said hey I like doing business with you right and name all the positive things that you like.

But then say you know what I have to be honest with you I caught you in a lie and that just makes me very weary because I cannot do business with people that are not honest it just makes bad business so if you want to continue doing business you have to be honest that's just the way it has to be and be done with it

It was an acquaintance. Other things happened as well. Given the totality, I ended the biz relationship.

Nope. There’s no such thing as a one-off liar. Every lie you get away with leads to more lying. If you reward bad behavior, it never changes. The ridiculousness of people getting involved with KNOWN liars and cheats and acting all hurt and surprised when they get lied to and cheated is hilarious though. It’s almost as good as watching people get killed by wildlife.

Yes, and does depend on the lie of course; but it will make me... careful would be the right word... in my business dealings with that person.

If that person lies about 1 thing, what else might that person be lying about?

Unlikely. A lie means they are cheating and cheating possibly means they cut corners.
