Would you deal with someone who petty lies?

dealing with a casual partner and I found out they lied about their age by 3 years ( I though we were only a year apart ) but, after 6 months I found out and he still kinda denied that, but I didn’t really bother me too much because I had already liked him at this point. more recently they told me they were going to go out of town. We don’t see each other that often but they didn’t and I don’t really understand why they would lie about that

Some people lie when it is convenient for them and they have no morality that interferes with their convenience. To the best of your knowledge, up to this point, you have not caught him in a lie of any signficance. (But I am really suspicious of why he wanted to be in town without you knowing it.)

Do you want to wait until you catch him in a big lie? Do you want to wonder, after every discussion, if what he just told you is the truth? Do you want your future children to have a liar as a role model for your children?

You may want to ask him why he lied to you, but in a polite way, so it doesn't scare him, and maybe he'll be more honest. If he knows you're mad at him, he probably won't tell you the truth. That doesn't mean it was right what he did though.

I was with a liar for 3 years and I had to deal with lies every day. It starts out with one lie and soon, you find out more and more as you go along. Sit down and talk to him and see what you can find out. There's probably more to it. There usually is.

A liar is a thief. Thief of the truth. If they have no problem lying about small things, imagine what else they lie about without batting an eye. It’s normal to them and I don’t think I’d like that. I know someone who’s a pathological liar who doesn’t even know the truth from their lies. I had to cut them off my life.

I know a guy who claims to be 45 but I know he is 42 cause I saw his age on a website over 10 years ago.

That's hard to answer because all women tell petty lies. I would say it depends on the context and what she's lying about, what I feel her reasoning for telling the lies are.

Without a woman that lies excessively erodes my trust and just puts distance between us.

Well I hold guys to a much higher standard I have little respect for a guy who lies.
Are you clingy or does he ever fight for space? Because he might have said it just for some alone time. I realize I'm assuming a lot of things here.

It's probably a good idea to ask about the lies before you end things. People lie about the most pointless, trivial shit. You should give people the chance to come correct when they're found out though.

yeah but if you ask a liar about lies, what you should expect is the answer is more lies. It's an unreliable source, so no point in asking other than if you are really good at communication and can get the information that is behind the lies.
