How do you motivate someone’s desire to read?

They don’t particularly take pleasure in reading but when it’s history or research or they trying to find answers, they’re into it answers is what they’re seeking pleasure is not.
They do enjoy audiobooks podcast, love hearing others speak about books and want to know what’s in the books but don’t wanna sit there and read them love the movies and based on true stories loves facts and history, but just don’t want to sit there and read the book

I guess exactly how the definition of the word describes. People are naturally motivated by what they're good at when it aligns with their values. So, if we aim to motivate, we must reveal possible motives that may aid a cause they have.

The approach will be different from person to person, but the aim of the game is the same.

Ultimately you've gotta think like a salesman. So if you're not a good salesman then maybe they won't inspired mostly by your help, if at all.

I'm similar to the person who doesn't care to read. With me it's books. When I do read, it's usually informative information through the internet. For instance, I'm the type of person who would rather read a scientific study than a fiction novel.

If the person took a personality test like the big 5 for personality traits or the mbti for personality types, you'd be able to see what could motivate them. Then there are sites like "changingminds dot org" that go into great detail about how to influence people & with different strategies.

Ok. First, his interests and hobbies. Short stuff like magazine articles. Music, all teens live music. Artist / band biographies, song histories, etc. Again short. If he's a gamer lmk.

Give them a vested interest in it. It's not that most people don't like to read, it's that they have no vested interest. I don't particularly like reading. But when I come across something I WANT to learn, I'll read the book cover to cover in nothing flat. I don't read for enjoyment I read for improvement. That's my motivating factor. Give me a harry potter book and i'll use it for kindling to start my grill. Give me a book on investing and i'll read it cover to cover, maybe a couple times. Find your person's motivating factor.

Excellent question. I don't like to read, never have. I'm a visual person, who likes to learn and experience things visually, whether that be through videos, televised documentaries or in person.

There's little anyone could do to get me to want to read.

The only time I read is when I'm looking for information that I want online. There's no reason for books nowadays in my opinion, unless you want to read fiction and get lost in that world.
