Do you think about, recognize, pray for, tip... or show a moment of thanks... while shopping?

Complain about China all you want... they are feeding a lot of people, and with very hard labor. Consider the plight of others... it is not an easy life for most of humanity.

We are fortunate to live in a time where if we have some $, we can buy most anything in the world. This is unprecidented in history. You are very fortunate if you are one of the lucky.

What to do for the farmers... raise prices?

I've tried growing food... it takes some real skills and back breaking work. My wifes family used to be farmers.

Better than the corporate factory farms.

I still remember hearing about the faulty utility pole that caused one of the largest Texan wildfires and it destroyed lots of Conservative Farmers their livelihoods overnight. The corporation in change of keeping maintenance of the pole took responsibility & apologized however no accountability or money or any justice has been achieved. I’m sure the Governor or the local legislature could do something about it yet jack diddly squat! Americans deserve to achieve the American Dream not lose it to corporate BS.
Speaking of farming, Kroger admitted recently that they price gouged eggs & other products past inflation rate and promised they would generously lower the price of eggs & other products if the govt allows a merger to kill their competition…. BS!

haha! gotta love corporate greed. you still get the dollar vote and in most towns, there is more than one grocery. maybe kamala had a point about corp greed, but the cure to that is public information and making choices. like I said elsewhere, raise some chickens, buy eggs from local farmer, etc..

Theodore Roosevelt kept monopolies in line, we used to tax corporations with higher rates back in the 50s & 60s, Unions were everywhere before 80s…. The only choice people need to make is holding politicians accountable who don’t see it the majority way.
If the Abbotts & Ted Cruzes of modern politics don’t care about the little guy then why not risk everything on a different face? That is why I flipped to Biden from Trump and I feel better!

Maybe if we broke up the Monsantos of Big Ag AND stopped price supports, subsidies and "guaranteed buyer" bullshit for corps the independent farmers will have a fighting chance.

The "small farmers" near me have a roadside stand where 2 tomatoes are $30, 3 peaches are $27 and a 4 oz. jar of honey is $42.

4 oz. is the size of the dipping sauce you get with your fries.

that's really high, we sold tomatos much less as store prices. but you go and grow some tomatoes, fertilizer, water... and get lucky if they grow and aren't' ruined... calculate your cost. It's expensive unless grown from seed and make your own fertilizer or high volume.

Yes, there are a few small farms near where I live. They have excellent products. They may cost more but I buy from them to support local business's

We have dairy farm as well, it's refreshing to see small farms/businesses. hard work! I know a guy that has 250 acres and herd of cattle. The stories he tells are not something most can handle.
