I heard one of my coworkers did this to his previous employer (e. g. took a fixture with him), and he tries to justify it by saying he never got a raise from previous employer. This is unethical to me.

I don't know why you bring up Atheism. I am not religious, atheist, or agnostic, but I feel closest to the latter two. I don't believe in an afterlife like hell/heaven. When I die, my body will break down and be used to create other things / beings (e. g. maybe cells in a maggot, sugars in a tree, etc.).
