Is Amazon delivery driving a bad job?

I’ve seen a few videos and it does not paint the job in a good light so now I’m kinda worried cause I just got hired to be a delivery driver and I’ve been needing a new job I start this Monday for training. And I’ve seen two video of people saying it was one of the worst jobs ever as well as some posts on job forms so now I’m a bit concerned I figured working for Amazon would be pretty good just delivering some packages and stuff.

There’s also going to be pretty limited air conditioning so make sure you bring some cold water with you. Expect long days, sometimes up to 12 hours during the holiday season. Be mindful of your energy levels. You may also be asked to do a little extra work at the end of your shift to go and help someone else with their stuff. If you’re driving, Amazon is timing you and how long it takes you to deliver each route. Don’t rush, but don’t be too slow either.

Oh lord this sounds stressful asl all this for the pay seems a bit out of touch on Amazons part I originally wanted to work for fedex which is paying a dollar or two more or maybe even ups but all that for 22$ and hour I don't know but the money would be really nice and I’m only working 4 days a week at the end of the day and I could really use the cash the long hours aren’t really that big a deal I’ve worked retail a long time and my first job had me doing 10-12 hour shifts especially around the holidays cleaning lifting and standing around for 5 days a week for like 11$ an hour so 10-12 hours driving and doing a bit of lifting actually sounds good to me I need the exercise but no air conditioning is really crazy in a van why aren’t the vans air conditioned that just sounds like they don’t care about there employees

It depends, some do have AC as far as I can tell, but on hotter days it’s wise to have a little mini cooler with some frozen water bottles to help keep your drink cold. Also? Grapes make excellent road snacks.

Okay I’ll be sure to bring some snacks and a mini cooler with drinks also how do you handle bathroom breaks that was a criticism I saw someone had in a video it seems like that could be an issue?

Also if you choose not to do rescues at the end of your shift will you be penalized for that?

I usually just end up going before and after my shift but I’ll try to look around for a gas station in an emergency. I’m not timed at the post office, at least not to the point I need to worry about my job, so I can take a break to use the bathroom on occasion. And for us, we don’t get a choice on whether or not to help someone out. We all go home at the same time, and that means if you finish early you should expect to help someone who’s going slow.
