Is it too much to ask that these idiots ring the damn doorbell? I’ve had a shit load of packages arriving for the last two weeks and none of these bastards even attempt to ring the doorbell. I only know they’re out there because i feel the vibration of their bigass delivery truck in the driveway. I’d get it if i had a dog and they just threw the package from afar but I don’t. And one dude did a fckin baby knock at the door. I’m shocked i heard it. Is delivery chivalry that damn dead? A mf can't get the package delivered directly anymore? Are they just lazy or should i blame covid? Maybe the Lord knew that I’d act out and flirt with the hot delivery guys 😆 He’s just trying to keep me tamed. But if my packages ever get wet from rain spilling onto the porch, I’m gonna be heated (and no it hasn’t been raining during their deliveries) #FeelFreeToList
There are different companies here and I live in what I think you'd call a condo.
Delivery men should use the intercom. If it needs to be signed they have to wait for you to come to the foyer.
Except it doesn't work out like that.
Some delivery companies will make one attempt to deliver and if you aren't by some fluke chance at home, they will require you to go collect it from a depot in Woop Woop. The delivery men themselves are even more bloody minded. They buzz intercom and walk away.
I've access to the cctv, I know what you do Mr Big Belly. Seriously it is a scaringly large belly and I am worried school kiddies across the road might see it and be scared for life.
At the golden end of service, is our classic postie who knows everybody's name and nothing is too much trouble for her. AustPost picked it right to get out of letters and focus on parcel delivery. They are good at it.
Other companies are between these two levels but they do get the package to you.
I think the first tier companies have gone bust haven't seen them for quite some time.

+1 yI hate anytime somebody knocks on the door when I have a clearly visible doorbell. I'm not going to hear you knocking in most of the house I spend my time in unless you're banging hard enough to knock it down, in which case you're dumb because I'm ready to be banging back, but the button is real obvious.
04 Reply- +1 y
Exactly i never hear those baby ass knocks

Three of my rooms are surrounded by concrete walls and ceiling, another one is soundproofed, if I'm in the media room with the rescue kittens watching another avalanche documentary (they really like them... it's weird) then I'm not going to hear anything. But you ring my doorbell a light goes off and lets me know. If the alarm is armed I'll know when you're in the driveway but I don't always arm that when I'm home.
But nooooo... mfs wanna do some tap tap tap shite like the boy throwing rocks at his crush's window in those 1980s movies, when windows musta been a lot cheaper because as much as I paid for them I ever catch someone throwing so much as shade in that general direction I may have to send them to the shadow realm. - +1 y
You are so funny lol

It's the lack of proper consistent air flow to the brain. The thought process does some weird shite sometimes when my brain is like "Am I dying? Dying doesn't feel so bad. I'ma take a nap." Then my BP drops to like 60/40 and I wake up on the kitchen floor to a rescue kitten licking my face. Hopefully not prematurely deciding that I am only good for consumption now. I'm okay with that, but I'd like them to wait at least 12 hours. 5-10 minutes just seems really ill of them.
I’d ring it and leave. I’d hate to be aggressive with the knock or give some grandma a heart attack lol
and I don't know I kinda prefer they leave it silently. I feel like it’s courteous to the neighborhood and especially depends on the hours of the day.
With that in mind I suppose I could ring a few times or ring and knock if it was like rush hour in a city or shady area, and if it’s early morning or late evening either be gentle with it or just leave it.
For me when ordering I’d always track it and look every now and then. Luckily I’d get it earlier than expected anyhow. I value sleep more than packages and value not being startled by some banging or so 😆 especially not early in the morning morning or lateeee at night.
Be like: I saw something in the bushes! 😂
Depends on the area and people i guess and how I’d feel about leaving it and the whole process.

I always get notified waaaay after its arrived
684 opinions shared on Education & Career topic. ’d ring the door bell and wait
anybody not doing this is just an asshole, not my problem if they're under pressure, I mean I paid for the delivery so they better do their jobs correctly it's not hard and if they can't do it then they should just change.I usually wait by the window when I get a delivery to be sure to get my package though I always try to get LaPoste it's a French one and it's the best, they're literally the only one that wait and it's usually the same person so they know the adress.

What Girls & Guys Said

+1 ySo, one of my good friends is an Amazon delivery driver. They are under a TON of pressure to make deliveries as quickly as possible, and they’re tracked by a supervisor. Legit, they tell the men not to take bathroom breaks and keep an empty bottle in their truck🤢 And if you don’t honor it they’re like “you either need to learn to hold it until the end of your shift or find a different job.” They have computer-generated expectations for precisely how long it should take them to go from stop to stop, and they get reprimanded for falling short of it.
Bottom line: these guys are in a CRAZY hurry, and their jobs depend on it, so even stopping to knock is outside of what they can spare. It sounds like a TERRIBLE job, lmao. The business model is built for “completion”, not “customer satisfaction.” Basically, “the package got there when we said it would, and that’s all we’re looking to make happen.” They don’t care if it gets wet, damaged, stolen, none of that. Their workday is conducted like a race, so my expectations are as low as could be, haha.
Door Dash on the other hand, that’s WILD when they don’t knock or ring, or leave food out in some building lobby, lmao
12 Reply- +1 y
Oh, meant to say, with Amazon they do the picture, and I think that’s the focus, just covering Amazon’s ass so you can’t say they didn’t deliver it if someone gaffles your package from the porch, haha
- +1 y
Piss in a bottle? Wooow how is the company not in trouble
- 413 opinions shared on Education & Career topic.
+1 yWell when I was working for Amazon Flex most times they would just ask you to leave it at the door and not to knock or ring the doorbell so that's what I did for the most part. There were a few I would knock on the door for but I mostly just took the picture and left the package on the porch.
12 Reply- +1 y
Yea i do like that Amazon takes a pic
- +1 y
Yes me too. That's how you know they sent it to the right place. And they have to place it in the right place to take the picture which is great.
I would comply with standard procedure wich is to call ahead approximately 30 minutes to let a customer know I'm coming. Best case scenario they will answere and let me know they're at home, willing to sign the release. Second best they answere, let me know they arn't at home and can't make it home in time wich saves me the trouble and I'll inform them I can try again tomorrow if they don't want to swing by the company themselves to pick up their package. Worst case scenario, they don't answere and I have to make the effort of trying a delivery. Most often no one's home or unwilling to sign the release in wich case I've wasted time and effort and have to return the package.
01 Reply- +1 y
Oh wow didn't know people have to call
+1 ycouriers have defined time to deliver a package/packages to a specific address, so their day is calculated for delivering XX packages to ZZ addresses... if something goes wrong/longer/whatever... they work not 8/10 hours but 12/14... and are paid the same
so I'm not really surprised...01 Reply- +1 y

m +1 yThat’s the whole new world of delivery 2.0, I guess. Here they have to get a signature, but you can opt out and have them put the package somewhere in the staircase or with a neighbor. You also get a text or email when delivered. I also think we don’t have the amount of porch pirates you Americans have.
01 Reply- +1 y
We get texts… late
I just saw on daily dose of internet today a guy throws the package to the door takes a picture and then steals the package and walks away XD
Thankfully here the postal service is very professional and not even that expensive. I haven't had a problem once with the delivery itself, if there was a problem it was with the business or person delivering the item.
01 Reply- +1 y
Omggg
I feel like it's pretty normal for them to leave the package at the door and leave. From my experience most are not home anyway when they deliver, I'm almost always at work when they show up. Maybe it would be polite to see if they are home but I'm not sure that is necessary with their job here since so many are not home. They should leave it covered under a porch or something if possible. The ones that open the door and just leave it near the driveway are the ones that drive me crazy.
04 Reply- +1 y
Yes i hate if they leave it in the driveway
- +1 y
I know you are scared of dogs but we had one that because I had dogs even if they were inside he just toss the stuff out the door and leave. Drove me crazy. If you fear dogs that's fine but should this be your job if they scare you that much, you are going to run into them period.
- +1 y
Lmao yea he worked the wrong job. I know food delivery people who would tell you to cone out to their car
3.5K opinions shared on Education & Career topic. I knew somebody that took a job for UPS. he said they expect you to deliver an insane number of packages. They told him that while walking back to the truck he should be taking the keys out of his pocket. It could save almost a minute. This was back when they required a live signature. Now I bet they tell the guys to just drop it and run.
02 Reply- +1 y
That explains why one guy was running. I was like damn is a dog after him
+1 y"Maybe the Lord knew that I’d act out and flirt with the hot delivery guys He’s just trying to keep me tamed." You need to chill, you ain't single atm.. 😂😂..
I would probably knock the leaves.. Knock and ring the door bell.. I'm sure they have a sch to follow, so they probably wanna deliver them all on time.. But Delivery drivers especially Amazons are known to be trash, so I guess I would understand that they don't take the extra precautions.. Lmao..
03 Reply- +1 y
I know im not single, i think thats why the Lord told them not to ring the doorbell
- +1 y
😂😂😂.. The Lord ain't have nothing to do with their laziness..
- +1 y
😂😂
I'm an Amazon driver,
Did you put it in your Amazon customer instructions? I almost never ring a hell unless they ask me too. You can do it through your account settings. We're supposed to follow all customer instructions as best we can or you can report it. Get a ring they're amazing cameras. And leave snacks, Ed always remember people with snacks.01 Reply- +1 y
Oh wow this is new to me
I personally would knock then leave the package. They have a lot of deliveries to make so if they waited for the person to come to the door they would never get done.
They don't knock when I get packages but I've got a ring doorbell camera that notifies me when someone comes by my door
05 Reply- +1 y
But people used to always knock/ring and wait here before covid
- +1 y
Ahh that makes sense. I did order around 40 items just in 2 weeks. They prob tired of delivering to my ass 😩
- +1 y
Haha
- 1.3K opinions shared on Education & Career topic.
+1 ySimply put they don’t have time to sit around and wait for people to come to the door when there’s probably nobody home anyway. Put it somewhere reasonably safe, ring the bell if it looks like there might be someone there and on to the next one
00 Reply Back in 2011 when people were ordering. They would always nock the door and leave the package on the floor. But now they just leave the packaged and leave. It’s very rare to see people ringing the door.
01 Reply- +1 y
They didn't stop here until the pandemic hit. Before then they always rang. Actually i dont think they truly stopped until 2022
+1 ylol. Their motto is to not ring the door bell. Mine don’t ring the door bell either. Once they left my package on top of my garbage bins on the road 🤣
only hard workers ring the door bell.
01 Reply- +1 y
They used to ring but maybe they dont like not getting tipped 😂
+1 yWhen I see my neighbors have a package, if their car is outside, I'll ring the doorbell and leave. Why you gotta call them idiots though, I know you don't want your shit stolen, but still lol, that job is very taxing
11 Reply- +1 y
They are idiots if they ain't doin their full job. Theyre missing out on tips
+1 yI also don't understand why they don't ring the doorbell. Instead they call me on my phone when the doorbell is right in front of them. I'm not sure if their procedure says not to ring on doorbells but that is very annoying.
02 Reply- +1 y
Calling would tick me off since i work from home
- +1 y
Is really annoying. The doorbell is pretty much on their face right beside the door.
1.2K opinions shared on Education & Career topic. Leave it where they asked, knock or ring it and leave. I have more shit to deliver, im not waiting on some slow old lady or for people who aren't even home
02 Reply- +1 y
But at least you’d even ring. These bastards dont even do that. My shit could get snatched by some one else because they dont notify me
+1 yRing then knock (I know a few people with broken doorbells). Give them at least some time to get to the door. After that, put the parcel down and start the process to put a card through.
But I'm sure they get paid by the delivery.01 Reply- +1 y
Maybe
+1 yI have a pretty good work ethic and take any job pretty serious and do the best I can. I would ring the doorbell a couple times and wait a couple minutes but if no one answers I might just leave on a porch or maybe a chair or chair.
01 Reply- +1 y
Sounds good
+1 yHonestly I prefer they just leave it and be on the way and If I was the driver I'd do the same thing.
I just don't like having to deal with people. Plus I'm never home when my stuff arrives anyway.00 Reply320 opinions shared on Education & Career topic. I hate when they knock since they usually come in the afternoon when my babies are napping

I drop off the package at the door and the person gets the text or email letting them know their package is dropped off.

Yeah because some people don’t like it. Especially if they’re trying to nap or have babies that are napping, or a dog that barks at the sound of a doorbell. I personally find it annoying when they ring my doorbell and plus you get notified once it’s been delivered with a picture so I just check my phone
