It has its issues, the pay may suck and you might be on the hook for repairs

I’ve driven work trucks lots and never been on any hook for a repair once. I record my pre trip and post and sign it and report it every time before I turn the key.

Hearing stories from everywhere will always happen. Know your worker rights. That paper or inspection would save your butt in a legal sense. It’s not there to cause issues, it’s there to keep things working and safe.

Lousy pay, lousy hours, cutthroat and inconsistent work
Specialized as in some niche requiring experience, training or skill beyond the standard monkey at the wheel

Truck drivers spend a lot of time away from home. Especially the ones that do interstate driving. When you have kids, that will make it much more difficult.

I would know because my father was one until my parents had kids. Reason why? My dad and mom didn’t want to leave my mom and their kids alone in the house
