If you had money, but you did not have a job, would you feel like some thing was missing?

I read about a Rockefeller who inherited the family fortune, as one of the Rockefeller descendants, and they changed their last name and got a job as a travelling doctor and now practice medicine in third world countries for a living. The idea of endless Louis Vuitton bags and evening champagne bored them to shreds. They wanted a life with more purpose than that.

I would certainly be happy with the money and not have to do a M - F 9 - 5 job.

I would however still likely find things to occupy my time and purpose, helping others, being able to set things up, try things, when money is no obstacle.

The bags and endless champagne don’t interest me and probably not good for your health (in many ways), however reaching out to others, maybe setting up platforms, charities, entrepreneurial stuff, could all be fun and rewarding.

I think I’d take to it because I don’t fit into the “normal” flow of life but find it really hard to do anything outside the norm without a financial safety net, if that were there I’d be a lot more capable and empowered. Right now, just muddling through, while a little jealous of the famous regular types, ones who perhaps don’t really seem like the types to have earned fame and fortune in a good kind way.

Yeah I would miss not having my job.

It's a very important part of me and I wouldn't be complete if I quit it. It's stressful and the hours suck big time, but it pays off to know I am doing my small part in making the world a better place.
