Air Force, is it worth it in the long run? Any regrets when it came to the Air Force? Single mothers and Air Force pros and cons?

So just recently a friend reached out. She’s a single mom in the air force. Her daughter is 3. Told me all about the benefits but that she was away from her child for 9month. I’ve got two boys. Ages 10 & 8. But I don't know if it’s worth being away from them for so long…. any advice please?

The only people who enlist are the desperate and the stupid. The desperate enlist because they have no other options for success and suffer like hell in the process of getting there as the military psychologically tears you down with excessive physical labor, pointless tasks, and instilling the fear of losing your life in deployment. The LEAST they can do is offer great benefits for you and your family.
The stupid enlist because they’re dumb enough to believe it makes them special, rather than just another cog in the machine.
