The biggest thing I learned from high school is how to upgrade my vocabulary, how to improve my verbal logic, how to build creative communication skills, as well as how to form emotional bonds with female friends.
Those are skills you do not have time to pick up when you become an adult, because you are too busy earning money and caring for family to read different books or socialize with your friends in a thorough and deeply close way.
Even if you have time to read books, you do not have access to preselected high quality literature from a carefully crafted online database the way you did as a teenager.
I don't think it had any particular impact on me... I met some great people, and I'm still friends with them... in general, it was an obligatory step for higher education :D
college and university gave me more freedom in choosing what I actually want to learn, without forcing me to learn what others thought would be good for me :D
Not really. I was in and out in 3 years. Just another stop along the way. I wasn't really from there. It's just the place I happened to be during those years. Never went back for a reunion or anything. I just kept moving forward relentlessly to a never ending sequence of new places.
Of course it does. Even when you hated it or think it doesn’t
High school had a significant impact on my life. It laid the foundation for my educational journey, taught me essential social skills, and helped identify my interests. The challenges I faced and overcame in high school gave me resilience and a desire for lifelong learning. Additionally, it introduced me to mentors who inspired my career path in education and career development. High school was more than just academics; it was about personal growth and finding my passion for helping others achieve their potential.
