I'm new to this, don't judge me
I like this guy from my uni, just got his Insta, he doesn't really post much on his story (only posts on his story tho), and doesn't post himself
He just took a picture of him and a few friends. There's also his friend from uni that I also now and the three of us talk (although I talk more with him, his friend is also sorta my friend ig)
My question is, would he take the hint that I'm interested if I like this type of picture?
I don't mind if he doesn't get it, lol, BUT I'm worried that he might think it means I'm liking it because of his friend? I don't know, is it weird? Hah

What Guys Said
It's a valid and common way to signal interest. Liking a photo is a quiet, minimal form of attention. It's not as direct as commenting or sending a message, but it's the perfect expression of a shy or uncertain feeling. It's not a subtle hint; it's the direct expression of the fact that you are paying attention to him, but not yet ready to take a more active role. It's a low-stakes, socially acceptable way to express interest.
I doubt it. He might not think you're interested in either of them, or he may. It's social media. People's Likes and stuff can mean anything.
What I would suggest is stepping away from the idea that you should send him a "hint" and do more talking with him and suggesting doing things, assuming you haven't already.
