The modern American school system is designed to create consumer employees. The system is fairly dated at 200 years old but it’s one of those “tried and true” traditions we can’t really justify getting rid of anymore. Now, as for “brainwashing” to be a “good worker” this isn’t necessarily the case. It’s true that academia praises the traits of obedience, punctuality, and the ability to follow-through, but this is pretty exclusive to academia and we’re speaking purely at a high school level. Even with that in mind, this same level of academia also praises and encourages critical thinking, initiative, and creative skills, things that don’t necessarily serve a brainwashed drone at a job. And besides that, academia is NOT accurate to the working world and this has been its biggest critique for the modern age. 50 years ago, high school would give you the education you need to enter any field of work successfully, that’s no longer the case as now fields with higher pay and more complex work require higher degrees of education which, again, are not always accurate to the actual job itself. I think you might just be having a bad day and/or had a bad time in school. I don't know what the deal is, it’s probably none of my business, but you should probably deal with that.
