I’m pretty sure there’s like… 80 schools of philosophy. I doubt you’ll find them all “elegantly” written into a single book. You seem to have focused purely on stoicism for now, existentialism seems to be popular among men like you so why don’t you try that next? And then you can dip your toes into absurdism because nihilism is just made to depress you. Look into the works of Søren Kierkegaard and Friedrich Nietzsche, and then later Immanuel Kant and Albert Camus.
I second he should read Kant and Nietzsche. You’d be surprised how many believe nihilism, though; it’s not just made to depress but makes sense in its own perspective.
Yeah, I’m not saying it doesn’t make sense I’m just saying it’s a bummer
Hannah Arendt's The Human Condition is a classic read.
Honestly, there are so many good philosophy books. I don't think I can rate philosophy books above or below each other. I'd say go research good philosophy books on your own.
If you want more stoicism, read Epictetus's Discourses.
Descartes' Meditations is good.
Kant's Critique of Pure Reason
My favorite philosopher is Soren Kierkegaard; he had some good writings too.
People worth learning about; dr. Robert Gilbert, Elkhart tolle, Deepak Chopra, and Alan watts.
SAMADHI; here is a good word for you to try to understand. This could keep you busy for lifetime
One of my most favorites books is the the Tao Te Ching by laozi. Its like a peom of paradoxs that explain life almost perfect.
Exploring philosophy can be deeply enriching. I recommend "Sophie's World" by Jostein Gaarder. It's a novel that provides an engaging overview of Western philosophy through a captivating story. Another classic is Will Durant's "The Story of Philosophy," which elegantly covers major thinkers and branches in a more traditional format. Both offer insightful perspectives that could complement your previous readings on Stoicism and historical documentaries. Enjoy your philosophical journey!
