I think it heavily depends on what's your preferred learning style. I like reading and watching the whole process (if it's about Science). I'm writing all the highlights on the lesson. Then after, I will ready questions about it. After a few days, I'll go back to the questionnaire and see if I really absorbed the lesson. If I forgot about it, I'll reread and reread again.
