So I've been studying for my exam since 3+ weeks and it was going okay and then with school off the prep got better cuz more time and I could actually get some good sleep. The past two days I just keep on thinking about stuff that happened in the past and literally anything I'm studying is just flying over my head. What to do?
Here are some study tips that may help:
- Take breaks when you start feeling overwhelmed or distracted. Go for a short walk, call a friend, do a quick workout - just 10-15 minutes to reset your mind.
- Rewrite your notes or make cue cards/diagrams. Writing things out can help cement them better than just reading. Quiz yourself too.
- Study with friends. You can teach each other and it feels less boring than solo studying.
- Change up where you study. Try the library, a coffee shop, even outdoors if weather allows. A change of scenery can feel refreshing.
- Reward yourself after productive chunks of time. Like a snack or episode of your favorite show. Positive reinforcement works!
- Get enough sleep and stay hydrated. Being tired will make it harder to concentrate.
- Talk to your teachers if you're really stressed. They want you to succeed and may offer advice or flexibility.
- Don't dwell on the past, just focus on the next few days. You've got this! Believe in yourself.
Chin up, you've prepared well so try not to panic. Take it one step at a time and believe in your abilities. The exam will be over before you know it!
