I work 50 hours a week and I work all weekend working on classic cars I have sitting in the yard, or doing yard work or cleaning the house. I feel like if I take one little break my life could fall apart so I don't.

Did you grow up not having much? A friend of mine also had that “living to work” vs “working to live” mentality and she felt like it’s because of how she grew up. She got her first job as a teen to help support her family and never stopped working hard out of fear that she’d somehow wind up in that position again. She got married and felt comfortable enough to dial it back since there would be dual incomes, but as a single person her whole life revolved around hard work.

My parents are lower middle class and we lived in a house that was 600 sq ft for most of my childhood. When i was 12 or 13 I did yard work for a neighbor and I made enough money to be able to buy my first car when I was 15 for 1500 dollars
