Taking a break?

Been seeing this girl for 5 weeks and talking for 2 months. We don't even have each other's phone numbers (which she wasn't too happy about)... Said she needs a break, I told her okay, but I don't want any communication during the break. So my question is, if I don't hear from her in 3 weeks, should I break my "no communication" and hit her up and say "hey, hope you're doing well, here's my number, talk to me when you're ready"

Sure, I don't see why not. It gives her the power to start things back up where you guys left them off if/when she wants to. I feel that that is completely appropriate.
