It happens everytime I have a job. They’ll talk to be but they never really look at me. Like why? Like I’ll asked how they are. Every they don’t answer or answer with short word answers. I don’t think the head teacher likes me too much. I know us autistic people can be difficult to read. Some say I always answer the question but I keep rumbling about things and they didn’t asked about whatever.
Today I was ignored but some coworkers especially some that usually talk to me. I kindly said “Have a great weekend ladies.” no answer. I said it again but I got ignored.
this one girl I said, “Have a good weekend” and she said, “Yeah yeah you too.” Didn’t look at me and quickly walked off to talk to the other ladies. I don’t understand why coworkers ignore me or never invite me to hang out. Also some don’t even talk to me. Is it because I’m autistic? I don’t know. I’m always nice, greet people but when they don’t do the same for me, it fucking hurts.

Feeling disconnected at work can be challenging. Often, perceived indifference might stem from misunderstandings rather than any specific dislike. Being autistic might influence interactions, but it doesn't define people's reactions entirely. It could be worthwhile to seek direct feedback from a colleague you trust. Expressing your feelings and asking for feedback might provide insight. Additionally, maintaining professional boundaries, while expressing genuine interest in others, often fosters better communication. Building rapport might take time, but by recognising the unique strengths you bring to your role, and using them to connect, you can forge positive workplace relationships.
