Being responsible for yourself and not depending on everyone around you to feel good most of the time and to help you unless its family here and there. Timing and strategizing conversations a bit and holding flexibility and emotional composure for the right moments and acknowledging most of society is not inherently evil and can be morally grey for both good and bad - unless it politics but even then it can be complicated even if its morally evil at times, holding space for people without losing your own frame and agency. Practically though everything else covers behind this view of adulting , driving, preparing food, paying bills, going to work to not go broke and be destitute is a by-product of adulting.
All of that but really discipline, reflection, autonomy, responsibility and maturity
It used to be called growing up. That your attitude has made the step from school playground to work place. It means you can conduct yourself with decorum at all times without throwing childish insults throwing toddler tantrums. You don't gloat like a five year old rubbing it in his siblings face he got the last cookie.
You know just because you can do something doesn't mean you should, nor do you point out to others what you could do as a threat and people respect you for that. An adult builds bridges not destroys them.
Doing the responsible things like paying bills, taking care of your health etc and thinking rationally before you act, rather than only acting impulsively without a care for future repercussions.
