Boobs as private sponsorship. Your thoughts?

Romy Tarangul, Nicole Reinhardt, Katharina Scholz, and Petra Niemann are four German athletes who posed nude or topless to sponsor their participation in the Olympic games. Many have followed.

What are your thoughts? A cheap way to raise money, or were these women brave enough to pose without any clothes? Some of them claimed they wanted to show they can be muscular and feminine at the same time, some argued that male participants in ancient Greece didn't wear any clothes.

Some countries are quite lax on their nudity laws. Maybe, to them, it's no big deal at all that the whole country gets to see their tits. I, for one, don't understand why they have to stay hidden anywhere at all!! At least here in America, a woman can freely show any parts of her tits BUT her nipples But men can show their nipples, the same parts women have! In the meantime, the parts women ARE allowed to show are the parts men don't have, per se; i. e., the swollen mammary glands.

But it DOESN'T do that when they wear skin tight and sometimes skintoned outfits to do their sports, like, NOBODY looks at the tumblers or the balance beam girls and such in a lude way as she bounces around on the floor! NOBODY pays attention to what's under the skirts of the figure skaters, even though there's nothing there to see. And I'm SURE there's women watching that ogle the men, too!!

You're right about the part where you say that showing the nipples makes all the difference. Yet, certain European countries allow women to sunbathe topless and no one really cares. Or so I'm told. There's a cultural difference for sure.

And yet, even if nudity is not the norm, male nudity certainly isn't accepted as much as female nudity. Imagine a female version of Playboy magazine, showing pictures of male athletes with full nudity. Conservative souls would condemn this, but what is the difference?

That's correct! From what I hear, some countries let them walk around topless anytime they like.
I recently heard that, even in a good many places in America, being topless is not a crime, as long as it's not being done for commercial gains. Problem is, almost no one takes advantage of that!! I saw a video on YT last summer where some guy in Oregon complained to the police about some woman that lived a block away who would frequently walk past his house completely naked where his children might be outside playing. The police told him, "I agree with you but, there's nothing we can do about it because the laws in Oregon say you're allowed to walk around naked in public.".
Yeah! Exactly!! I think female nudity is more allowed because she's either got all that fur covering what she's got or, even if she shaves it, there's nothing to look at but a tiny portion of a slit, unless she spreads her legs. Whereas, with a guy, you're ALWAYS gonna see his full dick and balls!
It also puzzles me why it's perfectly fine to go to a museum and see great works of art of completely naked people and you can linger and look at any part of them all you want!! If you wanna stare at his dick or her tits, or even take pictures of them, you can just go ahead and do it! But, even if the person that posed for it was standing right beside it completely naked holding the same pose, they'd be arrested for public nudity and the pictures you took would be considered pornography!!
From a religious aspect, I don't see why nudity is considered bad! I don't believe in religion but, didn't god supposedly create Adam and Eve completely naked, like all the other animals on this planet? So, if nudity was perfectly okay for god, why is it so frowned upon by all the religious types? Isn't that going AGAINST their god's wishes?

Well, as a man I am wary of giving my opinion on this. If I say women shouldn't do it I am being controlling. If I say good for them, people might think I am being objectifying. Ultimately what I would say is this: brains, muscle, beauty they all are part genetic part work, and they all fade with time. Why should we not be proud therefore of what we have whatever it is while we have it.

I think when people frame bodies as “private sponsorship,” it says more about how they view relationships than about bodies themselves.

Attraction is natural, sure. But reducing someone to a transaction or a benefit feels a bit shallow to me.

If connection turns into ownership or entitlement, that’s where things lose depth.

I’d rather see relationships as mutual choice , not sponsorship deals.

OK. But wouldn't it be better if nudity was commonly accepted? Part of society still views it as not OK, even something sinful or contrary to cultural 'correctness'. Paying someone to take her clothes off is not really helping either.

Who knows if it's a good idea or not. I respect they're making a statement they believe in though.

I have no problem with it at all.
I think it's funny that guys can show their chests but it's a big deal if women do.
Women's figures, legs and butts are on full display in athletic outfits and male observers appreciate that.
Given that the sight of women's bare breasts is considered erotic, I think it's great that women can capitalize on their beauty by posing for tasteful, well-paying photo shoots.
It's not like it's porn.
Look how many female celebrities wear extremely revealing clothing.
To me, it indicates self confidence. And I'm all for breaking taboos where breasts are concerned.

Of course it's not porn. The pictures themselves are great. I have nothing against nudity. But I don't think male nudity would be accepted that easily. Double standards male vs. female.
