Got caught with my phone after an exam: should I deny it or confess?

I brought my phone to an exam on purpose to cheat. After the exam ended, my phone fell out of my pocket and 2-3 students saw it. Someone told the teacher that a student brought a phone to the exam and now the teacher is looking for witnesses. My school is very strict and even having a phone during the exam can lead to disciplinary action. No one saw me using it during the exam, they only saw it fall at the end. I’m really stressed and scared about what will happen. Should I deny it or tell the truth? What would you do in my situation? I want to deny will they believe me?

As you should be. Since you already know that your school is strict, why did you even bring your phone in the first place? Confess and get it over with. Hopefully, you’ve learned from this. Next time, study and/or ask for help if the material is too difficult for you.

What country are you in? they’re probably gonna have witnesses that are pointing to you. These people are selling you out when they should be quiet. Like if you’re in prison, you never say a word you don’t rat people out. You know the old Saying snitches get stitches
