Yes it can and the younger you learn, like most things in life, the better you will be to understand.
Doesn't mean everyone can learn but I believe most can. The few exceptions might be sociopaths that literally can't. I don't mean that as a dig just honest.
shown, and appreciated, yes... experienced
but "taught and known" not exactly, no...
I think it can definitely be taught, but it is more of an innate trait to have. Not saying you can't grow to have compassion, but it's usually there from a young age in my opinion.
I think so. You can teach someone what the meaning of it is and lead by example.
The question of whether it sticks or not…

@Nikki1989 Nikki, perhaps not TAUGHT, but maybe LEARNED, through a series of life experiences.
Definitely. Decent parenting is pretty crucial. But even reading literature tends to increase empathy.
Nope. I can demonstrate compassionate behavior, but that actually compassion is usually not there
Maybe it's possible to teach someone the definition, but you can't be sure if they are really going to practice compassion or not.
Yes i can definitely be taught but only through life experiences
Yes, I do.

@Nikki1989 Nope, just tell them what it is
