How can I get rehired at McDonald’s after quitting recently?

I quit McDonald's a little over a month ago, and need to go back due to financial reasons. I left on good terms and they said I can always come back to work. Should I contact the general manager and talk to them, or just submit an application like anyone else?

Well they said that you can come back.
