Whether you work on Columbus Day depends on your employer and your sector. From my experience: - Federal employees usually get it off (it’s a federal holiday). - Many banks and government offices close. - A lot of private companies, retail, and service jobs stay open and treat it as a normal workday. - Some employers give a “floating holiday” instead. If you get it off, that’s your company’s policy, not a universal rule. Always confirm with HR or your manager for your specific workplace.

I don't have to work any day. Ah, the benefit of being retired. 😎 FYI, when I was working, my company did treat Columbus Day as a work holiday, unless I was working at a customer site, where we maintained 24/7/365 coverage.

I'll have it off this year, but otherwise I don't, unless it happens to fall into my rotation of off days.

Yes, we don't have that kind of holiday in here.

I will be working that day. In the Free State of Florida, Columbus Day is not a major holiday.

It's Canadian Thanksgiving on the 12th

I work Tues-Sat every day of the week.

Didn't even know that's a thing.

Do you have to work on Columbus Day?

I just heard that today! It falls on the second Monday of October. I never knew Canada had a Thanksgiving. That is so cool.
