Yes, but it is not a big holiday in Florida. However, I accept that all humans are flawed and i can celebrate their accomplishments without requiring that they be anything other than a flawed human.
No. I'm having kidney stone surgery

And in June he said that America has too many holidays.🤷🏻♀️
Juneteenth is a fake holiday that Biden made up to pander for more black votes that he was losing to Trump/
I spent a summer in Texas and nobody said a word about JuneTeenth. Now it is a national holidsy and Sept 11th is not. We should always remember what happened on Sept 11th.
@exitseven That's nothing. About two years ago, I spent a whole summer and part of the autumn in Texas and I heard countless times that Biden actually paid $666 to every single African-American in the country on the condition that they would vote for him. The triple-deep-freeze state funded that by digging up soldiers graves in Arlington Cemetary, selling whatever they could find: gold teeth, purple hearts, wedding rings, historical artefacts and so forth. What's worst: they did all that digging between 8:46 and 10:28 AM on the 19th anniversary of 9/11, in September 2020. They cursed every grave with voodoo inspired satanic rites and scrawled "universal healthcare!" on every skull. You can't get more evil than that.
@Danzigdawson I did not realize you were kidding until the part about the voodoo.
Soooo it snuck up on me. I didn't know yesterday was Columbus day. I went to the bank, found out they were closed, and googled what holiday is today? Google told me it was indigenous people day. Your question just made me realize they are the same thing... 😂🤣🤔. Yea I worked.
We got 10 paid holidays a year at my job, but I don't think Columbus Day was one of them.
In the early 2000s, I started celebrating Indigenous People's day on Columbus Day. Our local Indian tribe held a weekend long celebration. I don't think Columbus is worth celebrating.
When you have deadlines, you work. Deadlines don't give a Schiff.
Columbus day in the US. In Canada it is our Thanksgiving. Either way I'm not working that day.
I'm retired, mostly, so that means I work almost every day.
Huh?
Yard, pruning, mowing, filling holes, transplanting, laundry x 4 this week, fix mower, spray weeds, fix hinge on back door, find anti-itch spray for dog's tummy, write thank you cards for bday gifts, prep lunch and supper. Usual stuff.
Columbus was even more vile than Trump, and he never landed on what's now US soil, and wtf, there were people here thousands of years before that. LOL Funny what they teach you in school.
LOL, yeah, I'll be kicking out natives, stealing their lands, and taking them as slaves.
Just like Columbus and your European immigrant forefathers did...
I'd love to be, but I am still trying to find a job.
He's proclaiming an existing federal law? What a moron.
No I'm off. Plus I agree and think he should bring it back. Every holiday is basically racist. So if you get rid of Columbus day you should also get rid of Thanksgiving using that logic.
I work every Columbus day
There’s no such thing as a day off. 🤪
I am working that day.
But it is official vacation?
We don't have Columbus day in Europe, so... unfortunately, most people will have to work on that day.
No, the company I'm contracted to work for wasn't working today
Yes, I am not going to celebrate the arrival of a genocidal colonizer.
I just happened to be off. He’s all over the place doing great things. I can’t get enough! 🇺🇸
I didn't know he was Italian
I have to work.
