Trending & News I believe sometimes you don't have to meet every single requirement before you deserve an opportunity. Sometimes, people see potential in you that you haven't even fully recognized in yourself. ❤️
I've always believed there's a difference between being unqualified and being inexperienced. You might not know everything the role requires, but if you're willing to learn, put in the work, accept corrections, and grow into the responsibility, you might surprise yourself.
Of course, there's a difference between stepping into an opportunity you're willing to learn from and accepting a position you're completely incapable of handling, especially when other people's lives or livelihoods are involved.
Sometimes, the opportunity comes first, and the growth follows. You just have to be humble enough to learn and courageous enough to try. 💯
After all, how many people would be where they are today if they had waited until they felt 100% ready? 😊
Yes, the work position I have been in for the past five years. I had no idea what to do at first. I just bluffed my way through it until I mastered the role 100%.
Yes, fairly recently. I was fortunate that my prospective employer was desperate enough for help that my limited experience combined with my personal assets was enough that they kept me on. It worked out well for everyone involved for over a year and a half.
Usually that's how it's supposed to go. It's a fun question to think about though because the answer is pretty subjective depending on how you think about it.
Yes, and it changed my career.
In my late 20s I was offered a regional manager role I technically wasn’t “qualified” for: I’d never managed that many people, nor that size of budget. I was honest about my gaps but very clear on what I *could* do: learn fast, build teams, and execute.
To succeed, I:
- Found 2–3 mentors quickly
- Over-communicated with my boss
- Spent evenings closing my skill gaps
Stretch roles are often where we grow most—if we’re transparent, coachable, and willing to work.

according to who...
I've made it work, and it works better... and that's what matters, lmao
I don't think so. I'm always qualified
Do you have a degree? Not directly related, just asking
No I was qualified lol…
Nope
