English doesn't have a gender system. You don't have to worry whether a chair is male or female it's just a chair. But in French it's female, in German it's male.

So if you've learnt a second language how easy did you pick up the issue of gender?

I am an in home nurse who cares for the elderly. The patient has an adult daughter in the home who has a dog. There is also a male relative who comes over and stays the night. Yesterday I witnessed that male relative in the backyard punching and kicking the dog and the dogs ribs are showing. I called and told my job about this. They are going to come and do a supervisor visit. Although, I enjoy my elderly patient I no longer want to work at this home due to what I've seen. It really affected my spirit. People who abuse animals are sociopaths and are capable of more. Should I leave this client's home? I'm scared now.

I tried to pick the subject most schools should have anywhere.

I started a new job and have found out quickly the reason people quit is because is environment is horrendous. It is mostly coming from one woman who has been there for over 40 years. She is knowledgeable about her job but such a bitchy and mean person. I am stuck with this woman directly as I am working along side her. She constantly tries to put blame on me for things that happened even before I got there. My workload is piling up because she is passing her work onto me.

Not only calling other members of staff, c*nts, pr*cks, stupid b*tches. She started referring to the black people in our office as monkeys and other vicious remarks. Now first I thought I misheard but she said numerous times on Friday and I have not stopped thinking about it all weekend. I have already started applying for new jobs so hope to be out of there soon. Should I tell my other colleagues what has happened and the two girls in HR are the ones she is directing her hate at the most, so I feel I can’t even go to them. And the boss who has only been there 5 year walks on eggshells around this woman cause of the time she has been there. I would have stayed in this job if it was not for this woman. What should I do?

I work Wednesday to Friday so on Monday and Tuesday my colleague has been calling me stupid and lazy and in general just bad mouthing me. I don’t like her anyway and would love to punch her in the face but I obviously can’t.

The thing is she’s close friends with the assistant manager and bum licks the manager so if I do confront her, I could land myself in trouble. But I am fuming and can’t stand her. Any advice would be great.

So I'm currently in the city. The city is great in terms of being close to major high ways and my job but the city also also has its cons. More people = more crime which is what I've noticed in my area. You can't escape all crimes but you can move to an area where it's minimal. I did some apartment hunting in more affluent areas. But the drive will be different to and from work possibly 30-45min. How far would you drive?

For example, if your job could be dangerous for your physical health, do your parents and friends encourage you to chicken out and give up? Or maybe you give up on something seemingly all on your own, but obviously because you know your family and friends would agree with you that the job is too much of a health hazard? Or maybe not a health hazard, but your parents or friends assume it would be too difficult for you to live up to your boss's expectations, and implicitly put doubt in your mind about your capabilities?

So I have a nosey coworker she often tries to imitate me and ask me personal questions. I'd normally make up shit🤷🏽‍♀️ lol. Or now just ask why you wanna know? Same with clients they often ask my age because they say I look very young yet I'm very professional and mature. I lie again. I dont feel the work place is an appropriate place to ask personal questions. I dont owe them mu honesty especially since I feel it's in poor manners to ask intrusive questions.
