I had heard about this series for a long time . I didn't think it would be all that good. I had seen a few previews and wasn't impressed. Besides, the Dracula and vampire scene was just something that seemed so played out, it didn't seem worth the time.
Well, the pandemic created an excellent time to spend a few hours going through season 1. And boy was I wrong.
The plot is compelling, the dialogue is top notch, the characters are involved, complicated and interesting. I mean from Dracula himself, to the Belmont (a monster hunter), to a sorceress who accompanies him. There are so many factions and groups, and sub-plots. And everything makes sense. Its get a little weird in Season 3. But there are still scenes that are beyond compelling. I don't want to give too much of it away. But they do a great job of building suspense for the eventual climatic fight scenes. And there is this whole structure of vampire culture that is fascinating. It is as well done as any movie or tv series about vampires. There is just much going you have to rewatch some episodes to make sure you didn't miss anything.
