Imagine a trip back to 60's England. The Beatles are on top of the charts, The British invasion is sweeping across the globe, Go Go dancers and mod fashion everywhere you go. Sounds like a James Bond or Austin Powers film doesn't it? Well, this isn't the case here. Here we have a full fledged, awesome, edge of your seat psychological thriller that keeps you guessing up until the end
The movie is set In both modern day London and 1960s Soho. The modern scene focuses on a girl named Eloise who has just been accepted to fashion designer college in London. She discovers she does not fit in with her dorm mates. She then rents an apartment from an old lady, but this apartment holds a dark secret. Ellie then begins to see into 1960s London and follows the story of a girl named Sandy who had aspirations of becoming a singer in one of Londons top cabarets.
She quickly becomes managed to a man named John. Sandy quickly discovers that her manager is doing more than managing her career, but is also pimping her out. The movie gets more psychological from there as Ellie watches the events unfold from both the modern Era and the swinging 60s.
This movie is a must see if you like psychological thrillers and Hitchcock style horror. The movie has underlying themes of mental illness, sexual assault, and patriarchy. The movie also has several scenes of flashing and strobing lights, so if you have an aversion or epileptic seizure history you may want to avoid certain scenes.

This film was good. But it really does enforce my ideas that Edgar wright is over-rated as a writer. Spoiler alerts to anyone reading just in case.
Because a really good writer would of added nuance to the Old guy he was so forced in ever scene to come off creepy that there was no way that it couldn't be jack so later on when it's revealed it's not him it don't make sense why he was so creepy in all the other scenes.
It's one of those things were he tried too hard at making it look like jack were the pay off it not be so don't actually make any sense. Because if it was the cop he wouldn't of acted in such way's at all.
Nvm the ending one could see from a mile away. Now it's hard these days tbh to create something with a twist that one don't see coming because every story has been told to death so i don't really judge on that. But again a nuance approach to some of the way's it was done would of helped a lot and would of made it much better even if i did see what was happening.
Also i think it's a sin that not a single Sohodolls song was played but that's just 100% me lol
I will say Anya Taylor Joy looks like she might have a bright future
Aye that is true. Tbh though i liked the main girl more in this film and hope she gets more stuff.
She was awesome too. I loved her character
