Who are 90s kids and who are 2000s kids?

I would say that you can call yourself whatever you like as long as you don't exclusively claim stuff that belongs to others as well. There has been some trend going on namely "Only 90s kids will know". Technically, in my country, a 90s kid is someone born within 1990-1991. The problem is that they monopolise everything that is part of the 2000s and early 2010s and even call it a 90s era or 90s generation era. Like bro I get it you are nostalgic but someone born between 2000-2003 would definitely have their fair share of nostalgia from 2006-2012, if not from 2000-2004/5. I see comments in a music videos released in 2006 and some stone age person comments "Only 90s kids will feel the emotion. Today's generation wouldn't feel it." And then a 2000s kid comments, "I am not a 90s kid but I can feel it" and then they reply "You were 5-6 six, what emotions....Only 90s kids".

First of all, be clear if you want to talk about emotion or nostalgia because art is timeless. Secondly I knew music tones as a five year old. I could identify between a sad song and a party song. Pretty sure many 5 year olds can do that. Moreover if I follow the same logic the 90s, then that era belongs to the 80s, why comment "Only 90s kids will know" there as well. As for nostalgia, you can be nostalgic if you heard a 70/80s/90s song in your childhood because you have memories attached, it isn't necessary to be born in that era.

You can listen to any generation music or watch movies and love it, no shit. But monopolising emotions and experiences, now that is a problem. I identify as a 2000s/2010 hybrid because I was 8 by 2009 and 12 by 2013. Anyways, you can be whatever you want but don't monopolise stuff. As for generation, 2000s is my generation too, especially from 2006 because I turned 5. You can call yourself 90s kid but stop calling the 2000s as 90s era. Also you can monopolise till 2004/5 but leave the next few years alone. In my country, people born between 2000-2005 share the same childhood with the "90s kids".
