Thanks to LaFemmeFatale_1 who pointed out something that got me curious. She told me that she heard that ENFPs are the most introverted extroverts, and that was so profound of a statement that blew me away.

Wait, what? I'm an extrovert? I really thought I'm the ultimate introvert being lost in my thoughts all the time to the point where I'd literally walk into sign posts growing up, so lost in thought that I was so unaware of my surroundings. I also had a major shy phase in my teens. I have always been a people lover and get excited being around people but I really thought I was way more introverted than extroverted.

So after being told that ENFPs are the most introverted extroverts, I started searching for more information about ENFPs beyond what's on the main sites. Then found a bunch of memes, some hilarious, that seem so relatable. I wanted to share them with other ENFPs as well as people who deal with ENFPs regularly who might find it equally amusing:

I always wondered deeply about this, since there might have been some questions I would have answered quite differently as a teen. At least I could have imagined that when I took the test. I was quite the late bloomer so it took me a while to settle into who I am; maybe not until graduating university.

Unfortunately I had no knowledge of MBTI until just several years ago. I learned it from this site.

It's actually not that fun lol. I'm like a walking contradiction. I prefer being alone and im often disliking being around people while at the same time loving them and wanting to understand them and help them and... be around them haha.

I relate to that a lot also but maybe from my extreme sensation seeking side. I'm very drawn to morbid subjects like documentaries about serial killers, psychological horror films, extremely edgy humor, etc.

Also when I was a boy, I alarmed my teachers and parents since I liked to draw very violent images like muscular men with big swords disemboweling each other, impaling each other with spears, and cutting each other's heads off with swords.

For me it's just pure fantasy land. I hate watching actual footage of people being hurt and killed but I really enjoy dark fiction.

How old were you when you started drawing those pics that alarmed your parents/teachers?

I remember when I was in 6th grade, my brother asked me if I was afraid of dying. I said no... and he said, "Everyone is afraid to die." My response was, "No I'm not, like I wouldn't mind if I went outside, got hit by a bus and died." Lol... and my mom heard and was concerned. I don't know why I felt like that at that age. Seems like depression or something haha...

I absolutely love classical music. But I also enjoy some other stuff. I just listened to the song you shared, pretty cool @NathanDavis showed me this song and I love it. The violin.. but the song has kind of a darker vibe. It definitely isn't as agressive. I like some hard rock too though.

I think we might be extremely similar that way. I was around 6 or 7 when I started drawing those pictures that alarmed my parents and teachers. They started to find it amusing though and I didn't get any trouble for it after discovering I'm not some deranged lunatic, but they asked me to tone it down and keep it to myself so as to avoid making a bad impression to the other students. 😅

I also generally lacked a fear of death. Sometimes guys think I'm showboating when I say that like I'm trying to act all macho but it's a genuine psychological disconnect I have with people. I also try to clarify that I'm not trying to sound macho by this at all; I can't hunt, I'm not a big or particularly strong guy, I don't know that much about cars, etc. But I do have this one absence of fear of death and injury and it's a genuine thing I've always wanted to understand better.

Sometimes I think my amygdala (fear center of the brain) might be messed up. For example, I have two sets of tooth scars on the side of my face which have mostly over the years yet it came from trying to befriend and pet two different vicious wild dogs when I was a boy. The first time I was hospitalized, instead of wanting to avoid petting vicious wild dogs, I wanted to do it more now since I now realized it's the risk and challenge of doing it. It made it more exciting to try it again for me, not less, and so I tried again and got hospitalized again to the point where my parents had to start keeping me on a virtual leash and away from wild animals.

I also got kicked out of a course called Project Adventure in high school doing a tightrope walk around 20 feet high since I did it without the safety harness. I didn't see the point of overcoming dangerous challenges if they weren't actually dangerous but I nearly gave my teacher a heart attack. I was showboating a bit but I really thought this is the point of the course to overcome our fear of danger and so I thought I was doing it more than any other student by refusing the safety.

So there's genuinely something wrong with me this way psychologically and it doesn't make me a tough guy but a guy who can't seem to properly register danger. A tough guy as I see is someone who can and wisely overcomes his fear in cases where it's wise to do. I seem to just lack it and often do things extremely unwise as a result.

As for that music, I love it too! @NathanDavis always makes excellent music suggestions. I have some of his on my playlist and just added that one to it as well.

My biggest fear in life is not getting myself hurt or killed but someone else as a result of my foolishness and recklessness.

Like since I was a boy, I had very dark and violent dreams where I would be decapitated, dismembered, boiled alive, set on fire, fell from the highest places and died, etc. They weren't nightmares to me; I enjoyed and loved those dreams.

Yet I had a few where I accidentally hurt or killed someone else, like ones where I was playing and accidentally hurt and killed a boy or girl. Then those were my nightmares because I was so riddled with the deepest sense of guilt.

@Sonorous I might need to get piano lessons from my mother-in-law. She's actually a piano teacher and I always wanted to learn how to do it properly after just fooling around on keyboards all my life without really even knowing proper fingering like the thumb-rolling thing pianists do.

I tried to make up for my deficiencies with heavy quantization and lots of digital editing in the piano roll and often recording left hand and right hand parts separately instead of together, but it would probably both streamline things and improve the quality of the little tunes I make if I just knew how to play piano properly.

My wife told me horror stories though that makes me reluctant. When she made any mistake, her mother would slam the piano cover on her fingers. 😅

In a car accident, I remember it feeling like everything was going in slow motion. I couldn't open my eyes and the air bag had almost knocked me unconscious... and the truck was spinning. I was thinking, "This is it. I'm about die." I was accepting it lol.

But you'll never find me purposely putting myself in a dangerous situation for the thrill of it. And I'll never smoke Marijuana either as it gave me a panic attack that felt like the worst type of death haha.

That thrill-seeking side tends to get me into trouble. I've become much better now since marriage but I was kind of suicidal before now that I think about it in retrospect. I don't think I was so sad. I had sad moments like a really bad broken-heart one time but it wasn't like I was seeking to die.

It just always seemed to me like I'm most alive when I'm at least somewhat on the edge. I want to explore the edges of things. That's also my fascination with the morbid and edgy as I see it. It's exploring feelings and thoughts a lot of people might want to stay way from thinking and feeling. It seems like I might develop a more complete understanding of life and death and the whole nature of existence by exploring certain boundaries.

I also had a moment long ago in my life when I was sure it was my final moment. Involved a gang beating in my case. I was beaten so badly that every single one of my right hand's fingers were fractured along with ulna in both of my arms from trying to block their kicks. It became too painful to block anymore and my hands were shaking and I just gave up and decided this is the end. Then police and ambulance arrived.

I think that moment messed with my mental wiring a bit. I was having these odd angry outbursts for the following year and just blew off all my friends and quit drinking since I felt like a demon had possessed me, losing complete control with blind rage all the time. It's what got me studying psychotherapeutic techniques as well as Stoic philosophy to cure myself of this anger which had become completely uncontrollable after that beating.

I've also had some bad trips with weed although each time involved combining it with heavy drinking. They turned out funny in my case like diving out of a taxi and grabbing onto a signpost shouting at my friends to grab onto something since it felt like the planet was spinning too fast.

But for me, I never got lessons, I just started by playing what I liked to play & would constantly apply a sort of progressive overload in difficulty with what I'd play. It helped that I didn't have a sustain pedal for years as well, because it forced me to be faster & more accurate with less practice needed.

Awesome! I see many similarities there with ENFP, maybe since we only differ on that 4th dimension. I vary a bit each time I take the test after a year or so. One thing I've noticed is that my extroversion level went down a bit over the pandemic (although still 82%, but before I was over 90%). Also I'm right at the cusp between thinker and feeler although always over the edge to feeler by a margin.

That seems well-balanced to me. I'm extreme on that 4th dimension with the perceiving and very spontaneous but it comes with the disadvantage that I tend to be disorganized and not very good at following through with long-term plans. I generally need to work with managers who kind of kick my butt and keep me on track doing something or else I'll quickly go off track.

The bad liar one is funny since it reminded me of this incident one time. My friends really wanted to go to a strip club and I refused. I have a wife; I also genuinely wasn't so interested. Yet they kept trying to goad and pressure me so I said, okay, just this once, but they have to promise and pinkie swear never to tell my wife! This is our little secret. Then they agreed and we went. Not so exciting; strip clubs were never my scene and I think lap dances and table dances are a waste of money so I end up feeling rude rejecting all the dancers.

But then when I got home, I told my wife, "Guess what? I went to a strip club! I'm sorry. My friends pressured me into it." Then she said it's totally fine.

Later on, she asked my friends how it was like going to the strip club. Then they were trying to keep it secret from her as they swore but then my wife told them she knew, and they asked how, and she shared that I told her about it as soon as I got home. Then they all got mad at me because they was supposed to be our secret. 😅 Whoops! But I'm very bad at this.

I would be happy just to master one! When I look at the world's greatest though, it seems like a lifetime of devotion to their craft. Also a bit held back genetically and also by age these days. For example, in my teens I had a 100m dash PR of less than 10.5 secs which was enough to make me a small time regional champion, but nowhere even close to the same league as Usain Bolt. But Usain Bolt is 195cm with such long legs while I'm a measly 173cm. Yet on top on that, now in my 40s and with a missing toe from an injury I sustained, I struggle just to stay under 12 secs these days. 😢

Not to excuse my age or missing toe though! I do like to imagine and fantasize that I'm going to be the next world champion. I always found it useful to aim for the sun, metaphorically speaking, even if we're actually intending to land on the moon. So when I go the gym, I imagine I'm going to be the world's greatest powerlifter since that inspires me more than just aiming to be a moderately strong guy in my 40s which is the more realistic goal (but it doesn't inspire me enough).

Thats the wrong way to look at it.
Mastery isn't about competing, its about you wanting something and then bringing that something into the world, just so you can have it.
Competing is about pleasing others with your acomplishments, the goal should be to please yourself with the fruit of your acomplishments.
Master a craft to recieve a desired product of said craft.

Oh, I see! I was mostly interested in competitive activities where we could measure performance quite objectively. Although that reminds me of a friendly disagreement my wife had about Asian martial arts masters. She's trained under them and believes they are masters despite the fact that they don't participate in any tournaments or MMA matches since they achieved this type of internal mastery. Yet I'm very competitively minded so I didn't think it counts unless they compete and test their martial arts against others. It's kind of a dichotomy of mindsets.

Thats a very narrow view of mastery.

If you master every aspect in a single player game, you still mastered everything, even though you cannot use it to compete, you can still do those things successfully.

If you master the ability to put whats in your head on a painting, you still mastered painting it, even though your style is different than other's styles based on personal taste, and thus cannot be objectively compared.

If you built the exact kind of home you wanted successfully, and it stays standing against the elements, then you mastered architecture, even if you are the only architect to want that kind of house.

Mastery is about success, you aim to do something, and you try to do it until you succeed. Its use or comparisons do not matter.

Essentially, mastering things is fulfilling desires through effort, not everyone cares about competing, so thats not always going to be the desire that gets fulfilled.

Makes sense! I think in that basic sense, I generally do achieve a sufficient level of mastery before moving on to the next skill/hobby/subject. The main criterion for me that makes me move on to the next is not to beat the world's greatest champions, but to understand how they managed to become so in the first place. I want to demystify their skill; a "how does it work?" mindset. Then when I learn enough that I figure it out and the only path ahead to ever beating them is to spend the rest of my life devoted to training, I figure I know enough about it to satisfy my curiosity and find something new that tickles it.

If I use a video game analogy, it's like I'm satisfied when I learn the full tech tree in Starcraft and beat the single-player campaigns and have enough success in multiplayer that I understand how those elite players that average 300+ APM (even though mine is probably less than 100 APM) do what they do. I don't want to keep going and try to beat those 300+ APM players. I've figured out enough about Starcraft. Now I want to try Age of Empires!

For videogames, I'm satisfied when the game has everything I want in it and gives me an enjoyable experience.

I actually don't like things like scoreboards, kill counts, dps counters, health bars, medals, xp, UI clutter etc, they take me out of the game's experience.

I like immersion and beauty and challenge and narrative.

I enjoy the experience, not the accomplishment itself.

For the star craft tech tree example, I'd prefer the tech trees for all players was completely unlocked from the start, and that the game was balanced in such a way to not need to lock away anything, but instead limits amounts of things by their power. So like no massive army of ultralisks, as thats very unbalanced.

I'm similar on the gaming side. I'm a huge fan of CRPGs and I love games where I feel as though my choices have some branching effect on the narrative, like Fallout 1&2 are my gold standard there. To a lesser extent, KOTOR, VtM: Bloodlines, Mass Effect, Quest For Glory, AD&D Gold Box, and some others, but nothing beats Fallout 1&2 to me there.

My main gripe with Starcraft is that rush strategies tend to be too effective at least with what I got from it. Actually dominated leaderboard originally when the game first came out even though my APM probably wasn't very good (didn't even hear of the concept back then). Yet it was a very boring way in which I did it and very robotic. I started to count exactly the seconds required to build barracks, train marine, train SCV, etc, and basically just did the same thing scouting with SCV and then rush the enemy base. I was successful enough just optimizing and shaving seconds off the routine to make it to the lowly parts of the leaderboard. Then those players with crazy APM started showing up and dominating everything on Battle. NET and I got bored very quickly.

I think at least more interesting strategies and tactics could have arisen in SC if defense was much more effective than offense. Like C&C. In SC, there isn't typically enough advantage to build defensive structures like turrets or bunkers over just amassing marines, e. g., with Terran, and utilize a mobile offense for defense as well.

On the main topic, the notion of E-Sports and even the name is very off-putting to me. Don't want to knock it for people into it but the idea is very uninteresting to me. I prefer to look at video games as a medium of interactive storytelling.

I like competitive games, I just don't do it for the sake of scoring, I do it for thrills, comedy, and challenge.

But yes, an immersive story is also good, just so long as its not taking away from gameplay. Telltale games for example take it too far, whereas the original halo trilogy did an amazing job.

Same. Telltale Games actually turned me off right from the start since lengthy episodic storytelling already implied to me that our choices couldn't actually matter that much unless they want to see their development costs skyrocket exponentially. Just being a former gamedev and having been somewhat intimate with the costs of even halfway acknowledging past player choices far later on and even allowing them to impact the ending, the idea that a dev studio could deliver games in episodes like this and actually make choices matter seemed virtually impossible to me.

Like even the preview of the future episode kills that idea, like if we could make a pivotal decision that could result in a main character permanently dying, that's not compatible with episodic storytelling unless the episodes themselves start to branch off based on the previous decisions.

So inevitably I thought the only practical thing to do in such a case is to make choices not really matter much beyond the immediate moment and basically reduce the game to a minimally interactive TV show where the choices barely impact the future story... which is what we ended up getting.

Also I lost my socks one time while getting ready and asked my wife, "Where are my socks? Have you seen them? I had them in my hand like 30 seconds ago." Then we looked everywhere together and couldn't find my socks. So I ended up getting another pair even though the pair I had was my favorite but it's like, "Where the hell are my socks?" Our house is small and we keep it clean so it was so confusing like they disappeared in thin air.

Then later my wife found my socks in the refrigerator. I think while grabbing an iced coffee to drink, I somehow put my socks in the fridge.

I think I've tried that but I still never seem to find it. Like when I lost the socks, I tried tracing back my footsteps. "Okay, I did this, and I had it in my hand, then..." But I don't remember putting the socks in the fridge. I think I remembered getting coffee from the fridge since I had it in my hand but I didn't remember putting my socks in the fridge. After all, who puts socks in the fridge? That's just dumb!

I've also made the mistake of brushing my teeth with shaving cream or liquid soap way more times than anyone should ever make in a lifetime (maybe over 100 times). I just reach for the toothbrush and am like, "ladidadida", then put shaving cream on my toothbrush and start brushing and then like, "Puat! WTF!"
