Hell's Fury ( A poem about Hurricane Helene, one year later)

Hells Fury ( A poem about Hurricane Helene, one year later)

Hell's Fury came to Appalachia.

In such a way us mountain folk have never seen before.

Sure, we have lived through earthquakes and other stronger storms.

But never such as fury as this wild wonder bestowed onto us.

It looked like an atomic bomb of rain and wind had ransacked Asheville.

Roads cut off between North Carolina and Tennessee by mudslides and washed out roads.

People crying because all was lost.

When Hell's Fury came to town.

Many people are still dealing with recovery.

We have grown stronger and rose back in many ways.

We are showing that Hell's Fury cannot destroy a culture and a people.

We just grow stronger, and roll with the punches.
