Why do people say that Ron Weasley was in the friendzone?

No one was friendzoned! If anything they were just "childhood- zoned" it took them a long time to get together simply because they were children/young teens through most of the series and they were not emotionally mature enough to even realize what their feelings for each other were, or know how to have a romantic relationship yet.

Neither of them was in the friend zone. Neither of them was aware that they liked each other until they weren't available anymore. I don't love them as a couple, but no one was friend zoned. Not that that is a real thing.
