Topless vs. frontal female nudity in movies?

Why is it ok to show frontal nudity of women? Like that is too graphic for a movie shown in theaters or in front of my husband?

I think the frontal nudity goes way too far. I can handle a boob here and there. But I’m not ok with showing girls private parts

I am pro full nudity in films. But it should apply to both men and women.

Nudity should not be added simply because film makers can, and theatre films should not turn into porn films. But when appropriate (I know this is a poor choice of words), such as during sex scenes or if a scene takes place at a nudist beach, I think full nudity should be allowed.
There does not have to be close-ups of genitals, but seeing penises, breast and/or vulvas briefly might actually give people a more relaxed and natural relationship to the human body and sex.

I think a more natural approach to sex in films and media might be healthy for the world. By "natural", I mean not censored and not showing perfectly choreographed sex.

In fact, the current approach to sex scenes are - in my opinion - potentially more harmful than full nudity. People are exposed to a perfectly coordinated intercourse and can then feel bad about themselves because they are unable to give such perfect sex to their partner (and likewise to receive such perfect sex).

@SirRexington, of course everything has to be consensual. But if the actors consent to being naked in front of each other and in front of the camera, everything should be fine.

@SirRexington I agree that there is a risk of that happening.
But scenes have been changed before when actors/actresses refuse to do something. Body doubles are another possibility, though this option will make it harder to do a frontal shot including the person's face..
Finally, I am convinced that the serious film makers will be willing to censor the nude scenes if it means that they can get just the right person for the character.

Well, I hate nudity in film to be frank. A woman having to be filmed naked shouldn't ever be part of a story telling movie. Stripping shouldn't be part of the job just to be an actor. If you can't tell a good story without asking people to share private/intimate parts of their bodies forever on film than you suck as a director and you are probably part perv.

That being said, "full frontal" doesn't show anything. You said it shows a girls "private parts". Not really. A triangular patch of hair is what it shows and the woman's legs would have to be spread open a bit at some odd angle or position with the camera closing in on that part to actually see the vulva or the clit/labia.

That's why movies have ratings and disclosures if there is nudity, that way those that want to see it can and those that don't want to see it don't have to.

There are many good G rated movies and some PG without any nudity.

R ratings will many times show everything even male frontal.

PG-13 will usually only show boobs or butt.

It's extremely rare to see women private part in a movie. I only saw it in one movie.
I'm against all nudity cause I don't think it's needed if the movie is interesting enough.

And there's a lot of male nudity in American movie (topless and seeing back muscles). In my country they aren't much males nudity cause the actor aren't attractive enough for it.

I kind see what you're saying. I once watched a movie where a girl was running around naked for one hour.
The whole thing was poorly written and poorly acted, so I don't think people would even watch it if there wasn't any nudity.

That being said, I'm a guy so of course I like seeing nude women in movies, especially Indian and Middle Eastern movies. But sometimes I feel it isn't necessary, and it's so awkward when you're sitting there with your family or in a school classroom and a naked girl comes on screen.

When I was going through puberty it turned me on, but now it doesn't even do anything for me. LOL

I mean, sometimes in comedies nudity adds to the humor, but sometimes I feel it's unnecessary.

I also kind of agree with you on the swearing. I hate when they bleep movies, but at the same time hearing the F bomb every two seconds is just as annoying.

@ZeussLightningBolt In comedy movie if it also last some seconds it's ok, it's funny. I watched a movie where the guys was naked (but he was covering his private) and then the family of his girlfriend came back and saw him naked dancing the living room XD
The father of the girl wanted to killed him, it was super funny.

But in general nudity is pretty annoying especially if they show it every 10 min.

For the swearing in France they don't use it much only when necessaries so it's ok and when they translate foreign movie into French they usually remove nearly all swear words.

I've noticed that about Polish movies too. Both with the nudity, and also when they translate American films, they don't translate the swear word into the Polish equivalent, but use a nicer word. LOL

I don’t have a problem with nudity in films per se but I think nudity should only be included in a film if it’s important to the plot, not just to attract lustful moviegoers.

I do have a problem with male nudity in films because male nudity in mainstream films is often used as a socio-political attack on males by giving us males “a taste of our own medicine” rather than to simply attract female moviegoers. Besides it’s not like most women care at all about male nudity.

Excessive violence and nudity, are what writers use when they have no creativity. Dicks are now showing up in movies. I've seen this twice now, and both times I was just watching comedies. Couldn't that be saved for porn movies?
