Dominic West urges James Bond producers to cast transgender soldier as 007 . Dominic West has waded into the debate on who should play the next James Bond, suggesting producers should select a transgender person.

The British star also had someone in mind – Hannah Graf, the highest-ranking transgender soldier in the British army.

West told The Sunday Times Magazine: “She’s a beautiful girl who could be Bond. They should have a transgender Bond because there are a lot of transgender people in the army. That’s actually a brilliant idea.”

Graf is a captain in the electrical engineers. The Wire star met her after starring alongside her transgender husband Jake Graf in new film Colette, which also stars Keira Knightley.

Responding to West’s recommendation, Graf said she was “very flattered” that West mentioned her as a successor to Daniel Craig in the role.

James bond is male. This is a stupid statement made by some one who is desperately trying to signal to the world how great he is because he is "Accepting" of others etc. I. e. its not sincere and it makes no sense. First and foremost, again, the character is male so a transgender woman is not going to fit the role (unless we should have an all male cast of little women? Maybe wonder woman should have been cast as a man as well?) as this character has history. Two, the acting ability should be considered not whethr or not they fit into a certain group that one can exploit and prop up to pretend like they are a good person for making the suggestion. Hell her husband (transgender male) would be a better fit, if of course he can act the part and be convincing. Three, we know this is a ploy because the second a "cisgendered"(i. e. normal) actor plays a transsexual every one freaks out about how its not right but the second a transsexual plays a cisgendered character, its "brave and progressive". Its all a ploy. Also for the record, I don't actually give a damn if she is trans or not, I am frustrated by the intentional defacing and destruction of well established characters as well as the obvious insincerity of the suggestion (again, its a ploy to get the societal pat on the back so they can feel like they are good people. If you cared so much, create your own original idea and put a trans actor into the role, don't intentionally undermine some pre existing character or story just to suit your political agenda.).

I'm all done for women's right, lord knows they bitch enough about them not being equal. But a born male turned female is not a women. Such a sports you know for a fact that the actual women of the sport will have to work more to 'keep up with the "male" aka women. No matter how much they see them selves as a women , The fact is they are male. They have male strength. male hormones male arms. What that means is to a women who's not a body builder. She now has to beat a man at her own sport. And if she does more power to her but. Can you call that fair. Example.
Race Cars-- have a set ratio of weight and build they have to follow to equal out the others to make it fair.
Say one race car has a top of the line engine brakes build and all around bending the rules, (grey area) . Chances are that race car will win... Why is it cause he was just simply better ? NO. Its cause the unfair advantage of the upgrades they "allowed" the car to have.
So you tell me what's so fair about letting a male in a female sport.

So about the movie, I'm pretty sure that they a large problem finding actors for the "girls" scene's Why. Cause of the fact that straight women , don't kiss and make out with another women. that would make them bi sexual right? ... So unless your in to kiss another women who's pretending to be a man ! Have at it.. But I don't see this going well..

The answer to this is simple. Make Hannah Graf the hero of a new action film. James Bond was written as a male character. There's a whole backstory about it, he had a wife, he was educated at Eton (an all-boy's school). We may as well "urge" film studios to make a new Wonder Woman film starring Daniel Craig as Wonder Woman, if we're getting into this kind of shizzle.

i really don't care so long as the actor is good. but i don't think they should pick a tranny just for the sake of some inclusionist ideal. the actor should be the best for the role otherwise we get into some sort quota type thing where we put lesser quality people into positions

Why should they be trans? The odds of anyone being then next James Bond is low as it is, what are the odds that the actor who gets the part is also going to be trans. You give the job to the best actor... not just because they are trans.
