Greek Gods Vs Norse Gods: Who would win?

Spoiler alert, most are from the same original PIE and neolithic agriculturalists gods.
Hermes=Odin=Xaryomen (debated)
Zeus=Tyr=Deus Pytr (sky father) Whethrr it’s Tyr or Thor is debated, I’d say Tyr used to be it but got rolled into Thor over centuries. Generally he’s a bull/sky patriarch god universal to all PIE cultures from Hinduism to the Greeks to the Celts and Norse.
Freyja:Gaia/Rhea: Cybele, Shakti. The primordial womb goddess of death and rebirth. Note that Odin acquired his powers of Sidhr and dominion over the Dead by an agreement to accept half of the slain Freyja had been accepting. It’s also Zeus’s Mum who he entreaty for advice a few times (she saved him from his father eating him)
Zeus and Thor are also both the son of Mother Earth and a titan/giant
I think the older prototypes got split and rolled into existing traditions as they spread out and intermingled
Exactly!..
And if they all existed... For so long How come.. They never crossed each other or clashed with each other other.
Our history is full of empires who were aware of other empires on the planet..
But these God's never mentioned another Empire..
I mean Apollo Had a Jet Plane to travel in.. And he never mentioned it...
The Romans believed they were all different names for the same gods so when they encountered new areas they rolled it in with their own religion. The Greeks are the most similar but they have some Phoenician and Celtic ones mixed in too. The cult of Epona is one example (Hekwona in the PIE era)
My suspicion is there were a few basic prototypes like a Mother Earth and Sky Father, that stem from earlier shamanic practices which often include journeying to ethereal sky realms and primordial lower world realms as part of their practice.
Where it gets controversial is when you find out the older abrahamic religions refer to Yhwe in the same terms as a sky father in his role and even reference Israel as his wife (a Mother Earth type goddess). Which means technically all Christians Muslims and Jews are praying to Zeus/Deus Pytr/Thor as he comes from the same sky father god worshipped across the European, Anatolia, Persia and northern India area.
Exactly..
We Hindus
Have
INDRA - controls Lighting
SHIVA - uses Trident Like Poseidon
And so many resemblance!.
It's no way possible!..
That so many Gods existed but didn't fight with each other!..
They just went in different place.. Used different Name.. And build cultures as experiment...
And then they left...
Stupid humans followed the cultures and grew and fought each other.. And bleed each other..
That's why I chose ATHEISM!.
God's enjoy our DOOM!.
Our wars are their entertainment because if they really cared about us as their children!..
They wouldn't let One children of their!.. Kill another children!.
I can understand how you’d get to atheism as an answer, for me I found that power tends to corrupt people regardless of the source so religion, politics and money all have the same influence on people. Where I differ is I still practice spirituality I just don’t think having an institution in charge of it is constructive.
Absolute power corrupts absolutely is another version. It’s true! And it’s been around for ages
Gotta love DC
I mean.. Greek sea horror? Kraken. Norse sea horror? Jormungandrr. An oversized squid against a serpent stretching across the world.
Norse is much more badass. Although also much more grounded in reality. Then again every norse god is a warrior god of sorts.
trick question. I'd win!!! this right hand shot and its a wrap!! its a wrap!!! WRAP!

It depends on which ones are pitted against each other. But most Norse Gods are warriors, so that may give them some advantage. But Zeus is a smooth talker and may end up talking Odin to be with him ;)
Kind of partial to Norse mythology. It is just more interesting to me.
Greek gods are a bunch of poofters whom cause half their problems because they can't keep Zeus' cock in his breeches.
They are basically the same, I would take them all on!
I would take norse, they seem more powerful as a whole.
They are basically the same goes with new names and interpretations
Greek Gods of course ❤️
