people tend to like new different things. These beats are different so people grow a liking to new at the beginning... BUT we’ve never heard her sing actually sing. Can she hit a high note? Or even a low note?

If we whisper and talk we can achieve this no talent natural thing we all can do.

I couldn't agree more OP. Her voice sounds really breathy, quiet and kinda monotonous like it lacks any kind of emotion. Also, if you've noticed she mispronounces vowels in her songs in purpose, to create a dark and mysterious aura about her. Is she terrible? No.
But again her songs aren't particularly vocally demanding

Yes! I'm glad someone else sees it. I understand why people like her music, like you say just because it is different. But to me she isn't actually singing.

Of course she's talented in other ways otherwise she wouldn't have her success. And her music is very different and interesting to listen to. But I've never heard her sing

The music is catchy I guess. Not all music has to be art. Taylor swift is a terrible singer but she sells out venues. Some of it can just entertain.

I don't think its much of her singing to why she's popular, i think its the lifestyle, even tho she isn't emo, not even close, however that's the vibe she kind of gives out, and teenagers especially, white kinds especially, are very much into that.
