I really don’t give a shit. I don’t have any issues with it and really don’t understand why people do. in my opinion, it’s better to “normalize” these sorts of things so the kids aren’t confused when they’re exposed to it later on.

These types of cartoons are exactly the same reason dthomas blocked me bellow. They are an attempt to indoctrinate. When that doesn’t work the tactics he used are applied which are to silence dissenters and/or shame them. It’s a 2 step propaganda scheme. First show then the response we want towards homosexuality and teach them the views we want them to have. If they reject those views we silence them and call them hate mongers. We also make ourselves a minority group and make it a hate crime in some places to dissent.

Movies are typically rated based on content and what age of maturity is reasonably necessary to view such films. Why is that?

I’ll ask you a counter question. Why is it necessary to echo the same sentiments endlessly in school, politics, news commentary, movies, TV shows, and books? That sentiment is being gay is ok and in fact be celebrated and the hidden message (and often enough overt message) is shame on you if you don’t agree.

Why not let people come to their own conclusions about what they find acceptable? Why is it necessary to bombard them with this continual message and that carries to include transgenderism. I’ll tell you why. Because they want to normalize it. I think by virtue of the fact people must be indoctrinated that it’s already suspect. Otherwise wouldn’t people readily accept this? Is it so wrong that it's being normalized? If you boil down the messages to their bare essentials it's the same message they've been preaching for years, "treat everyone the same" all it is is reskined to fit the times. Children need to have different points of views in order to make their own decision. In your case it would be your beliefs vs the show's belief. The best you could do is to present your side of the argument (as the show does) and then leave it for the kid to decide which is right or wrong. Because at the end of the day your child isn't always going to see you eye to eye. But being able to have that freedom of choice at a young age can only do them better.

For starters yes, I would allow my child to watch cartoons with drugs, hate speech, etc... because I stand by my statement. I truly do believe that a child won't do something simply because they saw it in a cartoon. As for the scripture I agree, children are foolish at times. But the "rod of correction" isn't just one individual or one source for their knowledge but many sources. Take the bible for example, it isn't just one person's point of view but a collection of people's views/experiences in order to educate the reader. In this instance it is just two opposing opinion informing the child. They may not be able to handle physical freedom but freedom of knowledge is a different story. When it comes to a kid's cartoon the first priority is to entertain while still making it relatable to some extent. They don't push an agenda onto a child by merely have a gay character shown. Take a look a Steven Universe, while yes there are gay characters the main focus of the show is the growth of the characters and their own personal problems that they overcome. Instead of telling a child how to live so they'll do the same when their old why not give them the tools to be their own person and think for themselves. As long as things progress so will it need to be normalized. Look at technology, people would've never dreamed of it being used to the extent that it is now. But through time and exposure it became a part of our every day lives. Change is inevitable, as is the spread of information, and whether it be from a show, teacher, or peer kids are going to learn things you don't want them to. So why not embrace that knowledge and teach them to use it for the better instead of for your own ideals.

Listen, I agree with you. Just because a kid sees something doesn’t mean they will do it. The issue is that they’re not at a level of maturity yet to have much discernment about these things. Secondly, indoctrination as we typically use the word today often carries with it a negative connotation and the word brainwashing could be used as a synonym. Although the word indoctrination can also be used to mean to teach or instruct particularly in regards to a certain ideology how I’m using it as a synonym for brainwashing.

I am not suggesting anyone be indoctrinated or brainwashed as I’m using the word in regards to my religious views. Teaching proper morals is not wrong. Brainwashing is. There is a definite distinction between the two.

Does anyone need to be incessantly taught it is wrong to murder or rape? Is it necessary to say repeatedly in books, movies, political commentary, TV shows and yes, video games that those things are wrong? No, it’s readily accepted by the vast majority of people that those things are wrong after being told that once. No one is arguing those things are good. Yet with homosexuality there is this need to constantly promote it. Why is that? Because the people pushing it know it’s not ok and it is degenerate sexual behavior and in order to get people to accept it they must constantly repeat that message... and help install that message in the minds of children before they are able to discern. So cartoons are shown of homosexuals loving and caring for each other as heterosexual couples and what could be so wrong with that is the underlying message? Children generally lack the wisdom to see the intended manipulation in such situations and the intent is clear. Implant that in their young minds so they will grow up with and accept it and disregard natural intuition which would be that something is not right with homosexuality.
