Was there a commercial that scared you as a kid?

It was always the damn Afrin Nasal spray noses. I had dreams of these fuckers marching out of my closet one by one like an army. I actually wrote a short story one time about a kid getting attacked by one.

Not as a super young kid, but as a young teen. Bud Ice used to have a series of commercials in the mid-'90s where these creepy animated penguins would just show up... and sing "Dooby dooby doooooooo..." Ugh. I think I actually did have a nightmare or two about those things. Those were about the only really creepy commercials from childhood that I remember.

There was also a commercial I think for Gushers fruit snacks (I think), where the kid's heads would turn into big CGI fruits. Very creepy... but I think I was old enough not to be too weirded out.

There's some nightmare fuel made in the last 10-20 years, and I'd say the 80's produced some really creepy tv shows, specials, and movies, but I think there's more COMMERCIALS I'd be scared of as a kid growing up today than I had growing up 80's and 90's. For the US, (excluding haunted houses and theme park stuff for Halloween) there's the creepy skittles creme guy, there's the PS3 Baby, etc.

On an old video tape for a Disney movie (late 1990s maybe), there were one or two trailers before the feature presentation. One of them was for a Muppets movie. It started out quietly with a desolate landscape... then suddenly Gonzo would jump out of nowhere with a camera & yell “Say cheese!” 😵📸 He as a puppet scared the crap out of me already, but this trailer I always had to fast-forward past as a kid because I remember screaming from horror the first time I saw it 😱🤣

I dont like the animated smoking commercial where theyre made of clay or something and simg creepily. I also hate paranormal activity commercials and horror commercials. I also hate the one where they pull out their teeth to stop smoking or something.

No not as a kid but I love freaky commercials. There are too many to list but some of my favs are the ps1 and ps3 commercials with ps1 having a strange alien like woman who has a weird head and the ps3 having a freaky plastic crying baby in it. Also a certain kinder egg commercial which you can easily find by searching disturbing kinder egg commercial. Its really awesome and I love finding out about new creepy commercials as they always fascinate me!

I can’t remember which gas company made it but it was an advertisement where the boiler started talking in a really creepy voice to the family and it petrified me for ages. I couldn’t be near the boiler because I was terrified it was going to start talking to me lmao.

Not really but I think I watched commercials for Marine Land as a kid and they showed images of one of the roller coasters which was an upside down twister type thing and that scared me from visiting the park cause I didn't think I could handle it
