I happened to live through the 70s. Those days were like no other. Why do you think that's so? Afros, music, fashion, dances and so much more.

1. Positive liberal vibes in the belief of that good could or should possibly come in the aftermath of the 1960s idealism.
2. Reagan didn't fuck everything up yet wanting to return the world to a racist, misogynist 1950s. He got elected because of the crap that happened in the 1970s that slowly killed much of that idealism - Vietnam, Energy Crisis, skyjackings and Arabs/Israelis (Yom Kippur War, Munich), Watergate, Inflation, 3 Mile Island,, Iran Hostage Crisis, and finally Afghanistan and 1980 Olympic boycott. .
If I have to ask about the #70s it has to be all about the music. I love the rise of Disco, Soul and punk music. these musics were and still are the most catchiest music ever created. and dont get me started how it was these music that pave the way for the electronic music I been listening to nowadays

can i ask one thing, did you get stuck in an era like so many older people did? its just that i didn't and i feel the 90s made the 70s look like the 1870s. its not a criticism by the way but something i witness often being not far behind you in years and having people therefore assume i must be a queen fan
The 1970's was an interesting time as everything was changing more significantly than ever before. You had music branching out, serial killers were become well known, drugs were more popular, the style of parenting changed, Cold War, Vietnam, and even the Italian mobs in New York became less extreme and were starting to lose power.
Really just everything was changing, so it makes sense for people to ask about the 1970's.
If I had to guess, I'd say it's an interesting time period. With Ford and Brezhnev (wow, I actually spelled that right on the first try!) running things, the "WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE" atmosphere of the Cold War felt a little looser, many of the more brutal struggles of the '60's were over, and even the most chic of high fashion made you think (as a later observer born in 1992) that the air was about 20% hallucinogens. What's not to like?
I may have been younger but I definitely remember the weird clothes people wore and Son of Sam on the news , people on drugs, the muscle cars and things, simpler times but it was just another time period of people doing things during the moment, it’s always interesting to hear about
David Bowie was great and you left out ABBA , which dominated the 1970's
